The author has always been a fan of the unusual. When other kids were watching cartoons, she was watching Shock Theatre. While other young women subscribed to Cosmopolitan, she subscribed to Dr. J. Allen Hynek's UFO Reporter. X-Files, Dark Angel, Fringe, Moonlight, all the movies about things that go bump in the night are at the top of her list. So naturally she blends mystery with fantasy, sometimes horror, and sometimes sci-fi. Chase Dagger isn't your ordinary detective. He has a shapeshifter for a partner. Lee Driver's titles have been published in hard cover, paperback, large print, audio book, and most eBook formats, including for the Kindle. She also writes the Sam Casey series (think Medium with a Native American twist) under her own name, S.D. Tooley. NIGHTFALL, the 7th in the Chase Dagger series, was released in 2015. It is a sequel to FULL MOON-BLOODY MOON, the 2nd in the series. The author's Sam Casey's series (written as S.D. Tooley) currently consists of eight books (BURIED SECRETS was released in 2017). In her current title (KILLER DOUBLE, May 2023) she has combined the characters in her Sam Casey series and Chase Dagger series (written as Lee Driver) to solve a series of crimes committed by a serial killer who supposedly died years ago. The author felt the characters complement each other, with Sam Casey's Native American mysticism, Sara's shapeshifting abilities, Dagger's lab-enhanced talents, and Jake's logical influence to keep everyone focused. This case is set in Hilton Head, South Carolina, and the Lake Michigan area.
