Karen King is an internationally bestselling author of psychological suspense and women's fiction and is celebrating her fortieth year of publication. Her gripping thrillers and emotionally compelling stories are known for their twists, complex characters and strong female leads. Her latest psychological suspense novel, Don't Trust Him, was published in April 2025 by Bookouture, following the success of The Mother in Law, The Perfect Stepmother and The Stranger in my Bed - which all became International Amazon Bestsellers. In March 2025, Boldwood published her heartwarming women’s fiction novel, The Runaway Wives, which celebrates friendship, reinvention and life after sixty. The Runaway Wives is already an international bestseller, as is her earlier romantic novel The Cornish Hotel by the Sea. Several of her books have been translated into other languages. Karen publication record to date is seven psychological thrillers, twelve women’s fiction novels, over 120 children’s books, two young adult novels, and several short stories for women’s magazines. Her early writing career included writing for iconic magazines such as Jackie, Winnie the Pooh and Barbie. Karen is a former university lecturer and experienced writing tutor, having taught on the MA in Professional Writing and BA Illustration courses at Falmouth University, and for several distance learning programmes. She now lives in Spain, writing full time. Karen is a member of the Romantic Novelists’ Association, the Society of Authors, the Crime Writers’ Association and the Society of Women Writers and Journalists.
