Jeff Stone is the bestselling author of the ALA/YALSA and ILA/CBC award-winning, middle-grade, kung fu action/adventure series, THE FIVE ANCESTORS and THE FIVE ANCESTORS: OUT OF THE ASHES. Originally published by Random House Children’s Books plus thirteen other international publishers, there are ten novels in total. All are being re-released by Jeff’s small press, Jeff Stone Books.
Like his main characters, Jeff was an orphan. He began searching for his birthparents when he turned eighteen and found them fifteen years later.
Jeff is the proud father of two adult children. His former wife is from Hong Kong, where they had a traditional Chinese wedding ceremony in the 90’s. Jeff’s immersion in Chinese culture and shared ethnic experiences with his children informs his writing, as does his training in kung fu. In 2005, Jeff traveled to the legendary Shaolin Temple in China and received the honor of testing for his black belt in Shaolin-Do kung fu at Shaolin Temple.
