I was brought up in Wimbledon, but spent most of my adult life in Oxford, and now live with my husband in Minchinhampton in the Cotswolds, near my sister, the author Katie Fforde. I have published numerous short stories, including my own collection: ‘The Haunted Bridge and Other Strange Tales of the Oxford Canal’, and two romantic comedies. ‘A Proper Family Christmas’, is set in a Victorian mansion in the Cotswolds, and ‘A Real Family Easter’ is set in a crumbling Cotswold manor and its beautiful Dower House - I do have a thing about houses. I am also working on a biography of my grandmother, Florence Garner, the American heiress who married Sir William Gordon-Cumming of the notorious Baccarat Scandal.
