What if the sad ending of a classic story my mother read me as a child was actually a happy one? This question inspired my retelling of “The Little Match Girl” with a happy ending. A former wire-service reporter-turned photographer, Erika Katsu is based in Tokyo, Japan, where she is currently engaged in translation and writing. Her two faithful dogs serve as her “Chief Inspiration Officers” and are always eagerly on the job. She is on a mission to create bilingual stories that inspire empathy and small acts of kindness in the next generation of global citizens.
