Dr. Sofia Costa’s life experiences are a beacon of light for people to explore within, connect to the heart, and return to love - the truest essence of who we are. Inspired to explore why she experienced dis-ease felt as discomfort in her body, she chose to dive deeper. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Applied Exercise Physiology with an emphasis on cardiac rehabilitation at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. Soon after graduating, she supported clients with feeling freer within their body through movement as a certified Tier III Master Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist at Equinox Fitness in Miami, Florida. Several years later, Dr. Sofia earned a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy in 2012 at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos, California. In 2016, she transitioned out of working at an outpatient orthopedic sports clinic and decided to be a sole practitioner so she can provide a multi-integrative way of supporting clients from the inside-out. Motivated by the clients she connected with, Dr. Sofia self-published her first book in 2020, "The End of Back Pain: The Secret to Gaining Relief and Staying Active", emphasizing on five core elements: Movement, breathing, gut health, mindfulness, and emotional connection. With more than a decade of experience, Dr. Sofia evolved beyond the practice of physical therapy with certifications ranging from functional medicine to Holy Fire Reiki III Master. She expanded into the realm of Quantum energy healing by connecting to the heart of alchemical medicine through meditation, sound frequency, and remembering everything is divinely connected. During her sabbatical, Dr. Sofia wrote her second book while staying at a remote cabin in Mt. Shasta, California. "The Power of Being Known: A Heart-Centered Journey Connecting to Self, Earth, Lineage, and Love" was published in 2023, and then republished in 2025 as an expanded edition. Dr. Sofia expresses physiology and ancient wisdom in a harmonious way, empowering you to alchemize fears, integrate a new way of Being, and embody the truth of who you are. Within the first year of physical therapy school, she received a Certificate of Amendment from the Carlsbad Police Department in California for saving a local surfer’s life. Dr. Sofia has been featured on VoyageLA Magazine as one of Los Angeles’s most inspiring stories and interviewed on numerous podcasts. She offers gifts on her website to further assist your heart-centered journey. To live wholeheartedly is Dr. Sofia’s intention.
