Damien Brown is an Australian specialist remote medicine doctor. His bestselling first book Band-Aid for a Broken Leg recounts his experiences working for Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders) on the medical frontline in Angola, Mozambique and South Sudan. Since returning to Australia, he’s worked for more than ten years with the Royal Flying Doctor Service, and in several Northern Territory Hospitals, and undertaken further postings overseas. Damien believes in universal healthcare as a right, but isn’t otherwise religious. He plays drums and likes to jog, mindful of the dogs in remote communities that give chase after dark, and he’d love to get a non-chasing dog of his own.
