I'm the coauthor of "The Art of Doing: How Superachievers Do What They Do and How They Do It So Well," about how some of the most successful people in business, science, entertainment and the arts do what they do. In my interviews for the book, I had the opportunity to learn first-hand from actor Alec Baldwin, sports icon Yogi Berra, Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh, tennis champ Martina Navratilova and dozens of others that talent is just the beginning, it’s what you do with that talent that matters. In our blog, www.TheArtofDoing.com we continue the conversation. You can join us there and sign up for our free weekly newsletter. My background is in journalism. Before I became a freelance writer, I worked for the New York Times. Before that, I lived for four incredible years in Prague. And before that I was a magician's assistant for Penn & Teller. I have a M.A. from New York University and a B.A. from Kenyon College where there must be something in the water because no shortage of writing talent that comes out of there. I write fiction in my spare time.
