Adam Preston is an author and screenwriter who has written and directed a series of short films. After being raised in a petting zoo in Kent in the U.K. Adam studied literature and visual studies at Oxford Brookes University. He subsequently worked in the television industry, at Transatlantic Films in London, Maysles Films in New York and at Entertainment Productions in London. Adam has been commissioned to write screenplays by Working Title Television and Trinamite Films and has written for The Times, The Times Literary Supplement, The Financial Times and Sight and Sound. He is currently writing the English language version of the Spanish hit thriller La Sospecha De Sofia, which Peter Webber is tipped to direct, and is in negotiations to write a screenplay about Admiral Nelson, a subject on which he is an expert. His one man play, Horatio Nelson, Fever and Fire, was a critical and commercial hit at the Tabard Theatre, Chiswick in April 2026 and is returning to the theatre in September, with plans for performances around the U.K. The show will be presented at the Fisher Theatre, Bungay, in Norfolk on Trafalgar Day, 21st October, 2026. His most recent short film, The Last Post, broadcast on the Shorts TV channel in the US and across Europe and has clocked up significant views on iTunes and Amazon pay-per-view. Adam lives in Kent in the UK and runs Particular Productions, a film and publishing company. He also organises stand-up comedy shows through Village Idiot Comedy.
