Wow!!! As usual with this series I was completely blown away. The story is fantastic and I find myself becoming more and more invested in these characters. The narration is perfect and I know I will be returning time and time again. Onto the next one.

Simply fantastic

Firstly I’m not a fan of Connor and Rose. For two characters who are written as if they are supremely intelligent, and don’t they know it! - they are extremely stupid and naive. After trying and failing to harness the power of reality TV in the earlier book, they now decide it’s a good idea to tangle with the devil again and come to an “arrangement” with the gossip mongering media and paparazzi! All for what? To stop some stupid rumours about Lily and Lo? It makes no sense.

Then more secrets come out and Connor finds himself in the firing line, and it’s a big drama . The family is pulled together, threats are made, lies are suggested, and all for what? Maybe it’s because this book was written a decade ago, and we are a bit more enlightened now re sexuality, but I really didn’t think this was such a big thing.

Setting all that aside I still found Connor and Rose to be annoying, irritating and ridiculous. There wasn’t enough of the other couples, and the reintroduction of Scott seemed somewhat repetitive.

The narrators did a great job.

You probably need to read this in order to get to the later ones, but I suggest skipping big chunks as it makes it easier. I’m just relieved I can move into the next one, finally!

This was like trudging through treacle
