About this listen
A Beauty and the Beast Fantasy Romance Retelling
Four handsome fae princes.
One awkward bookworm.
An Enchanted Vale.
A beastly curse to break.
Rosalina O’Connell lives her life in Orca Cove as quietly as she can.
When her father turns up missing, Rosie goes after him and finds herself in the Enchanted Vale, the land of the fae. Where her father has been imprisoned and Rosie has no choice but to make a deal with four fae Princes to take his place.
As Rosie begins to learn more about the four Princes, she discovers that they have been cursed. The Princes must take on the form of demonic wolves every night and with every year that passes, more of their magic fades away.
If the Princes can each find their mate, they will break their curse and free their realm. Rosie is determined to help them…
The only problem is, the more time she spends with the Princes, the more she’s convinced that she’s the one they’re all meant to be with.
A spicy Beauty and the Beast retelling filled with enchanted fae, morally grey characters, a stupidly hot villain and a princess who has found her Prince Charming. All four of them.

'My newest fantasy escape! Bonded By Thorns is a sweeping introduction to an enchanted fae world brimming with magic, mystery, and romance. Elizabeth Helen expertly combine fractured fairytales and beloved romantasy tropes to craft a compelling story with great characters'
Emily Rath, USA Today bestselling author of North is the Night
'Fun, scorching hot, and absolutely ADDICTIVE. I am obsessed with this series'
Elizabeth May, #1 Sunday Times Bestselling author of The Falconer series
'Enchanted fae, a sexy villain, and morally grey men all wrapped up in the why-choose fantasy romance of your dreams. Beasts of Briar is the perfect series for romantasy lovers everywhere. I’m hungry for more!'
Clio Evans, author of Cosmic Kiss
‘Bonded by Thorns is a fairytale for grown-ups sinking its thorns into your heart and refusing to let go. It’s a wild, beautiful ride with steam that drips off the pages. Elizabeth Helen weaves a story where the “why choose” romance is a complex braid of roses, that'll have you thirsty for every last drop of love, even as the thorn pricks make you bleed. Prepare to be hooked until the very last word — and then left fiending for the next instalment’
Lexi Esme, author of Threads of Fate
'Elizabeth Helen's Bonded By Thorns takes Beauty and the Beast and turns it on its heels. This innovative blend of beloved romantasy tropes paired with a steamy romance featuring not one, but four princes, is now my favorite way to experience the fairy tale classic'
Frankie Diane Mallis, author of Daughter of the Drowned Empire
I really detested Rosalina's personality, the first 10 chapter's she is an pathetic mess, a total pushover. She is better in the castle but not by much. Also, i don't feel the series needed to be 4 books long, a duology i could totally commit to, but am not so sure about commiting to an entire series.

people so torn by whats happened to them they find it hard to let someone in.
but does what happened before define us? some might say yes some might think there is more to us. honestly we have yet to find out.
that ending, the mystery. so perfectly left me wanting to know what happened.
so many thoughts and theories.
the only thing I will say is I hope people can get past destroying themselves for whatever they think is 'right' and here's hoping there is enough left if they do.
cant wait for the next 😍

I love retellings of well known fairytales, those stories are such a big part of why I love fantasy and romantasy books now, some retellings are a mere nod to the original stories but this one definitely has a lot of elements of the original Beauty and the Beast included, (there is also the Mandalorian/Man In The Iron Mask vibe and this is probably me reading too much in to it but it also reminded me of the Wizard of Oz, Farron = the Lion, Ezryn = the Tin Man just not sure if Keldarion or Dayton is supposed to be the Scarecrow 🤷♀️)
The books starts off in a world that sounds more or less as we know it and probably around now with Rosalina, the bookish, quite awkward FMC, her Dad has spent years trying to find the Fae world and after finally stumbling in to it he ends up getting imprisoned, Rosalina goes to find and save him, resulting in trading her freedom for his, we get to meet the four princes of Castletree and not long after we start finding out about the beast related curse, then the story starts getting bigger and diversifying more from the original although there uncurrents throughout the first book.
Once in the Fae world this held all the charm of a fairytale, the world feels magical and I want to go to Castletree and probably just live in the library, knowing this is a Beauty and the Beast retelling and from reading the synopsis that there are four princes (and maybe more ... hopefully) it's quite predictable in the ways you would expect and I hope it continues to be so, overall it's an enjoyable read, I like the story, the characters, the world, there's enough turning out in the way I'd hope but obviously with more to come in the later books in the series, there are quite a lot of things being mentioned in this one that haven't been fully explored yet, which I have my theories about and I'm impatiently waiting for to be revealed, there are a lot of tropes we all know and love in this, it was a little slower burn than I'd expected, not too heavy on the spice and hasn't got fully in to the why choose part just yet.
I think the only bit that feels a little "off" for me is that although this is a fairytale for adults with mature themes the characters sometimes feel a little childish which just feels a little disconnected, and although the narrators are brilliant the voices sounded quite young at times too, that said I'm curious, captivated and will binge the rest of the series available so far.
3.9 ⭐'s enjoyable Beauty and the Beast retelling
