Skyler Morgan narration brings out the action, heat and grit in this book. Perfect to listen to.

Emily witnesses a murder while working in the restaurant and the hit man has been ordered to leave no witnesses. Kostya is the assassin. He takes Emily with him when he leaves so she can't go to the police.
Emily is one smart, caring, smart, and strong woman. Her father was part of the DEA so he taught her how to protect herself. Problem is she can not see away out this. Her head says no but her body keeps saying yes to the the very demanding Kostya.
This story is full of twists and turns, drama, violence, passion, very hot senses , intensity,

The warning does not give the correct insight into this book. It’s more than rough sex. The main character thinks beating people into submission is a way of life. He is a true sadist but yet so much more. I did finish the book and had so many mixed feelings on the the Dr. She enjoys beating beaten and as described, the beating in real life would have left her scared for life. I’m don’t understand that turning into love. This is where I felt Stockholm syndrome? And being held captive knowing you may never be let go yet you keep getting beat. Had the story left that out or kept it to a minimum and went down another avenue, it would have been much more enjoyable.

Moving on the story plot was wonderful it had all those aspects of a great book! Loved the animals, edge of danger, mob family dispute, ect.

The narration was nice, but I think for her part. it would have been better told by a woman.
