The Rona Shively Stories

Rona Shively has seen a lot of things in her day, but nothing like the case brought to her by Gilbert Delvecchio. He is looking for his ex-wife, and she’s definitely not the woman he married. Before she knows what is happening, Rona is swept into a web of deception where everyone is both a target and a suspect. A couple of romances and a shootout later, can she find the missing ex-wife before the bull’s-eye finds her again? Or is it too late? 

Rona Shively is a private detective. She’s smart, sassy...and seriously confused. She’s also got to pay the rent, so she takes on yet another crazy case. Her new client, Ted McCafferty, has asked for her assistance in finding out what happened to his sister. All reports say that she was killed in a boating accident, but McCafferty thinks that her husband may be hiding something. At first blush, her new client has a boyish charm, and she feels very comfortable around him. But things are never as they seem. 

Rona Shively needs something. She's not sure what it is, but she knows it's something. Summoned home by a mother she hates, she heads back to Ohio to check on things. When she gets there, her mother asks her to help out a local reverend who is a long time friend of the family. Rona soon finds herself surrounded by greed, corruption and criminals who will stop at nothing to get what they want. With the help of a handsome, local P.I., she tries to piece it all together before the bad guys figure out she's looking. Through it all, can she "keep the faith"?

For Rona Shively, even the good news is bad news. She's just returned from an extended stay in her hometown of Clarkston, Ohio, and she's all geared up for a change. The only problem is that when the notion of starting over begins to sink in, she's compelled to rethink her enthusiasm. For a distraction, she starts working on a case for a 15-year-old girl that throws her into a mess of problems she can't even begin to deal with. In true Rona Shively fashion, she digs in deep and soon finds that this girl's problems run much deeper than a gumshoe of mediocre talents can handle.

Rona Shively has been thinking a lot lately. Her mind is going in about a million different directions and for good reason. What starts out as a meeting with a potential client ends up being the title sequence for a whole series of messes that make absolutely no sense. She's trying to keep herself calm, but given the circumstances she'll be doing good just to keep herself out of jail and...out of the morgue.  

Rona is dealing with some demons; both real and imagined. It is still a mystery to her how people can act the way they do. She's trying to have a more positive outlook, but people keep trying to bring her down. Meddlesome exes, lies and deceit, cheating boyfriends, and conflicting emotions about who she's supposed to be keep Rona hopping as she hands it all over to her newly found Savior and says simply, "Thy will be done."

‘Tis the season...for heartache and trouble. Rona Shively has had her fair share. This year, she’s managed to dodge that bullet. But she can’t say the same for her client. Burdened by the Christmas spirit, Rona deals with all of her demons and a few more. Somehow, her problems seem small in comparison to the grief others have been putting up with. Bad tidings, poor judgment, and just plain terrible timing color the festivities as she tries to track down a cheating boyfriend while keeping an eye on her ever-growing family.

Rona must face the most difficult challenges of her life...and for her, that's saying something. Will she be able to hold up under the pressure?

All good things must end...and thankfully, those things which aren’t so good must end, too. Rona Shively is tired. She’s reaching out to help a friend, but in truth, the well has run dry. There’s nothing left. And she’s thinking it might be a good time to jump ship. Bad thing is, she’s not on a ship...and she’s sinking fast. Will somebody please throw her a lifeline?
