About this listen

I’ve handled liars, killers, and crooks–but nothing like her.
Money is my mistress. Fixing high-stakes messes, my trade.
Until the tables turn and I’m the one with a mess. This time, I haven’t got a plan.Just a gut feeling someone wants me dead.
Before I can hit the road, I’m blindsided by a pain-in-the-a-- stranger. Maggie.
Curves, startling blue eyes, and an immediate hatred…for me.
Our run-in looks to be an innocent mix-up.
But my instincts say otherwise. So I flip the script. Her secret becomes my leverage–my ticket out.
Then I kiss her. Touch her. Crave her.
Maggie was supposed to be a pawn. Instead she becomes my downfall.
Dive into a world where trust is dangerous and falling in love could be fatal!

This story was excitement from the very beginning. Enemies to lovers with plenty of intrigue and suspense. For me, although there was a kidnapping and a lot of bad guys I did not find to be too dark. Jason Clarke with his growly voice was just perfect as Nick who is part criminal, part softy, mostly sexy. Savannah Peachwood has such a sweet voice and did a great job as Maggie who is both an auto mechanic and a beautiful, confident, tough woman.

This is one of those books that I was sad when it was over. I was really enjoying it and wanted more. That is not to say the story wasn't complete. I just really wanted to live in that world a little more.

With this book, you get an action packed romantic suspense with a vulnerable alpha male and a strong–though not exempt of weaknesses–female character. They both learn who the other is through meaningful conversation while they try to escape death, basically. So there’s a lot of tension–including sexual tension.

The narration gave life to the characters. Their strengths and weaknesses are revealed through an emotional interpretation of the characters. They both are excellent and convey the feelings of their characters perfectly.

When there was peace and quiet, an important conversation took place that furthered their relationship and their understanding of each other. Don’t expect down time.

I really enjoyed this book and its characters. Not the best ever, but it’s really interesting and enjoyable.

With a storyline that is gripping and well fleshed out characters, Prophet held my attention and provided a listen that was compelling and engaging. Jason Clarke is a fabulous narrator, one whose richness of voice immediately draws me into the narrative. He modulates his voice well, creating atmosphere that draws pictures in your mind's eye, whole allowing you to be pulled along with the story. Savannah Peachwood has a lovely voice, though at times, she tended to use volume for emphasis in a manner that threw my focus. Prophet has been a pleasure to listen to 💖💖💖💖💖💖
