From USA TODAY best-selling author S.M. West comes an opposites attract stand-alone romance about broken trust, dangerous secrets, and second chances.

I wanted to stay, but left to keep her safe, only to return with a world of danger.

I’m a wanderer with no roots and no future. She’s a nurturer with dreams of a home filled with family. We never stood a chance. Or at least that’s what I tell myself.

I left her. No note. No text or call. No explanation. It had to be like that—the only way to keep her safe. Until danger drags me back into town and my worst fear comes true. Willow’s life is in the hands of a ruthless bully.

While we race to uncover my family’s deadly secrets and end the threat, her distrust eats at me. I can’t blame her. I lied to her, broke her trust, maybe even her heart, though I did it for the right reasons. Determined to do everything in my power to protect her, I’m forced to face a bitter truth.

I don’t deserve her and she may never forgive me, but I can’t walk away.

Combine a second chance romance and thrilling suspense and what do you get? SM West's latest installment of the Scarred Hearts series! Nomad is just that. Pulling me in from the first chapter, Logan had me wondering exactly what was going on! He is a nomad, wandering everywhere by where his loved ones are. His uncle is about to be released from jail, and he thinks Logan has something that he deserves to have and will do anything to get it. Leaving Willow was not easy, but keeping her safe was more important. Turning up in her house now though is not only an unwelcome surprise, but causing feelings to flow right back in for both of them. Will Logan be able to keep her safe? Will Willow be able to control her hurt and love? What will Clive do to get what he wants? Tune in to this story, you will be in for the wild ride! With Willow's fun family and the excitement the race for answers, I was invested in the story and didn't want to stop listening until I knew who to trust and the outcome! I had hunches, but with all the twists and turns, I was kept on edge and surprised at every turn. Plus a cameo Kit gave us a glimpse of where he is now too! This is an amazing listen!

Connor Crais and CJ Bloom. I don't need to say more. Storytellers that know how to fall into character and keep me captivated for hours, these two had my full attention. Crais has such an amazing voice. He holds a warmth for Logan, showing us the love he has for Willow and turns on a dime as the evil Clive, bringing fear and suspense! Bloom is always fantastic, and she gives us Willow, strong, willing to help and almost fearless with her personality. I love, love, love this team and truly enjoyed their performance.

What a fantastic romantic suspense!

Nomad by S.M West is a opposites attract romance that I listened to on audio narrated by C.J. Bloom and Connor Crais. This is the third book in the Scarred Hearts series and can be read as a standalone.

I loved the relationship that bloomed between Logan and Willow. Their relationship was a bit messy but you couldn't help but root for them. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

C.J. and Connor did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like opposites attract romances, second chance romances, contemporary romance, or romantic suspense.
