Sundering the Gods

Five hundred years ago the world shattered, banishing the gods from the Sister Continents and stealing the memories of the mortal peoples in an event known as the Great Forgetting. In 17 days the stars will align, and a religious cabal will summon the gods back to the realms of men.In the northern tundra priests search the Steaming Lakes, a place tormented by the Wakened Dead. Deep in the mountains, demonic shadows assail priests at a holy shrine. In the south, the clans know something foul is afoot, and dispatch warriors to seek answers, but instead they find horrors.   

Meliu survived the horrors at the Shrine of Burdenis, her scalp mangled by the Taken, but she braved her soul's eternity to rescue holy tomes. Escorted by Ivin Choerkin and the wardens, she found the legendary Codex of Sol, a book thought destroyed by the Clan Choerkin centuries ago. The Codex once brought holy war with its forbidden prophecies; its pages once again seem poised to change the destiny of a people.

Murder came to the lords of the Silone Clans upon the Eve of Snows, and the survivors scattered to the sea in a desperate journey to safety. They surrendered Kaludor, their island and home, to the demonic Shadows of Man and the Taken they possess. Eliles and the 20 souls who stayed behind on Herald’s Watch, surrounded by a tower of impenetrable fire, find they are not alone. Ivin, along with other surviving Silone lords, negotiate a desperate peace with the Hidreng of the Hundred Nations, a bargain which could cost his people the Seven Heavens and forfeit his soul.

Solineus rises from the drowning waters a second time, saved by the hand of a new friend: Morik of the Eight Kingdoms. Driven from his homeland by the demonic Shadows of Man, Solineus helped lead his people to a new frontier and the hope for peace, but this victory is one he won't be able to enjoy: A new life with his adopted daughters will have to wait. The Lady from the Blue won't tell him who he used to be, but promises to show him who he is, and who he will become, if he will bend to her will one more time.

The Silone clans survived to reach the Dragonspan Mountains, bloodied, but full of hope. But as wars end in the Tek Kingdoms, old enemies rise.
