Culling Earth

Whilst trying to extricate himself from a deadly situation involving a local businessman, Drew, a 33-years-old ex-soldier witnesses an alien takeover, a silent invasion, in Dumbarton, Scotland. The worldwide result of this, because it happened everywhere, is the depopulation of Earth by more than 98%. Alien towers and barriers, inaccessible to humans, now exist where once stood cities and towns.

Earth has less than two per cent of its population remaining. All large towns and cities have completely disappeared from existence, leaving behind the impenetrable translucent barriers that made this possible. The survivors of the invasion now share the planet with two alien species, the Guardians and the Ormsayer. The former have been here for as long as the human race has existed, monitoring the progress of the planet and its inhabitants. The latter arrived as an invading force and considered humans a food source – their only food source.
