About this listen

In just seven days, the world will crumble. The System's Descent will usher in a new era of chaos: wild animals mutating, monstrous creatures emerging, and the cessation of modern technology. Humanity will be left defenseless.

Drew Wright knows none of this. At least not until he is rudely ripped from his bed and thrust into a white room to undergo a taser-happy ‘Tutorial’. Turns out, he is one of a thousand randomly selected people to be forewarned of the approaching apocalypse. Now, he faces the delightful task of convincing his wife and mother of the devastation hurtling towards them.

As the System’s Descent draws near, Drew scrambles to prep supplies, fortify his home, and drag his elderly, TV-addicted mother away from her ‘shows’ long enough to listen to him. With monsters knocking at the door, how far is Drew willing to go to save those closest to him?

The dead rise to combat the encroaching darkness as Drew Wright taps into the only power that might save his loved ones—becoming Earth’s first Necromancer.

Genuinely entertaining and funny. This story started a little awkwardly but that soon changed as characters were developed and the scale of the story unfolded. I look forward to the next book! The voice acting is superb.

Imaginative and Entertaining

I liked it a lot! The story is good, not a tipical necromancer storyline but a well tought story of a reaction to doomsday.

Whilst not bad the book is just too filled with wish fulfilment for me. There are setbacks and slight challenges, however with how it’s written the mc is far too full of himself for any drama to leak through to us as readers. Instead what we get is an mc who thinks he’s the best and according to everyone round him he actually is the greatest, funniest, most talented individual there ever was (even the most ancient gods admire and adore him the first time they meet which is just wacky).

To wishywashy for me

In a genre with as many misses as hits this has the makings of a series to be up there with the best.

If you like Difiance of the Fall, The primal Hunter, He who fights with monsters or the Ripple System you will love this.

Right up there - so far
