Beasts of Rydor

In Rydor, royals rule monsters with artifacts and their people with fear. The poor pay for protection, but the ones higher on the pedestal are the true predators. Those not born with titles can only hope that criminals like the Phantom Thieves might save them in their moments of need. No one knows the names or faces of the thieves, but they do know how much the royals despise the monster hunters. When Calderi guards finally capture one of the thieves, the other will prove again nothing will stop her from finding him and that she will grant no mercy to any that stand in her way.

The royals of Rydor are rattled by the betrayal at the stadium in Calderi, but their pedestals remain intact. Elivia Florenell succeeded in taking out the former king, but she did not escape. She thinks she will suffer out her days as a prisoner until a witch arrives and offers her a new choice. Magic gave her a taste of vengeance before, and it isn’t long before she is tempted again. While the new King Calderi offers Sori a home, she cannot stay when a rumor comes that Loren, her brother, might be in Kova.

While royal courts crumble, witches find hope in Elivia. They believe she will restore the coven to its former glory. But as Elivia embraces her power, she dives deeper into the horrors of the witches before her—all of whom met their demise on their endless quests for vengeance. In Calderi, a new husband and crown can only distract Sori for a brief moment before she remembers dangers wait outside the palace walls. She has new reason to fight against the monsters. Protecting her people calls for the need for unlikely royal allies and puts at risk a brother whom she had always protected.
