One of the greatest joys of my nearly five decades of pastoral ministry has been preaching through books of the Bible. In trying to teach others I have learned so much myself. That certainly was true in the preparation and delivery of sermons on the book of Ecclesiastes. God used that study to work in me a deepening, resilient joy that is unafraid to look at the sorrows and hardships of life east of Eden. Through this book I am delighted to share some of the abiding lessons from Ecclesiastes with you.

King of Kings is the result of needing to rethink political theology in recent years. In it, James Baird presents a bold and compelling case for a radical proposition: that government must promote Christianity as the only true religion.

A Reformed Baptist is a Christian who believes in the great doctrines recovered by the Protestant Reformation, including the sufficiency of Scripture for the church, salvation by God's free grace, justification by faith alone, the importance of God's good law and the gospel of Jesus Christ, the centrality of the church in the life of the believer, and the great doctrine of Christian liberty.

A Novel of War, Forgiveness, and the Long Road Home. In the spring of 1865, Confederate cavalryman Virgil Kane is released from a Union prison carrying two things: his dead brother's belongings and a secret that could destroy his family. Unable to face his grieving parents with the truth—about his brother’s death—Virgil heads west instead of home. Joining a Mormon wagon train bound for Utah Territory, he crosses two thousand miles of prairie and mountain, learning the blacksmith's trade from unlikely friends and slowly hammering himself into someone capable of keeping the promises he made.

This book contains a defense of the idea that God’s rest on Day 7 of the creation week is instructive for people today. More technically, this book argues for the propriety of weekly Sabbath rest. This means that the normal pattern to be followed by humanity is a week, consisting of seven 24-hour days, six of which are spent in work while the other day is devoted to rest. Theologians would use the language of God’s rest being a “creation ordinance,” which is a term that many theologians use, but none have defined.

John Knox was one of the most remarkable pastors, thinkers, and reformers that the West has ever known. Born in the turbulent era of the 16th century, Knox became known as a bold defender of the Christian faith who suffered greatly for the sake of the gospel of Christ and His Church. Yet, despite immense conflict with the Roman papacy, various kingdoms, and even his own countrymen, Knox made it abundantly clear that he would resist tyranny and obey God at every turn.

The letters in this book were born out of a deep love for Joy and Dean by friends and family. We desired to walk with them through this hard journey and support them however we could. My hope is that these letters, originally written to support my sister through her suffering, will provide some comfort and encouragement to other fellow-sufferers who are walking a hard path.

Church planting and revitalization is a unique ministry. Filled with its own challenges, pastors and church leaders have often struggled in their labors. Thankfully, the apostle Paul imparted his wisdom to his young disciple Titus through a brief, power-packed letter full of encouragement and instruction. In like manner, this collection of writings from seasoned pastors, planters, and church revitalizers contains hundreds of years of combined wisdom and experience. Dear Titus serves as a helpful companion for any church planter or leader at any stage of their ministry.

The command of Paul, “Remember Jesus Christ,” is a call to embrace the message and the authority of the entire canon of Scripture. This three-word admonition leads us to see the purpose of God in creation, the desperate need for redemption, and the single person in whom purpose and redemption come together. The eternal benefits of such remembering and the deadly results of forgetting drive the contents of this book.

In Praise Is His Gracious Choice, Dr. Tom Nettles clearly and succinctly demonstrates that true biblical worship originates with God, not man. [...] This thoroughly biblical and theologically robust work is vital in fostering continued reformation within the church to bring all worship that would be God-centered, Christ-exalting, and Spirit-led into conformity with the truth of Scripture. Dustin Benge Provost and Professor of Historical and Pastoral Theology at Union School of Theology, Bridgend and Oxford, UK.

Great Commission spirituality must first emerge from a hearty trust in the Triune God, and then it should grow out of and bear fruit from the power of the Word of Christ. It should result in a restful, glad-hearted contentment in God, and it therefore labors freely and gratefully to the glory of God and the salvation of the nations. Great Commission spirituality is a subset of classical evangelical spirituality.

The whole Bible tells the story of redemption—the story of God’s redeeming grace in the person and work of Jesus Christ. From Old Testament to New Testament the point of Scripture is to reveal God’s salvation of sinners through Jesus Christ. That is why the goal of this book for this Advent is to take a brief flyover of the entire Bible. My prayer is that through this overview our faith can be strengthened and our resolve can be renewed in the truth that the Bible is one grand narrative showcasing God’s glory and His plan of redemption through the person and work of His Son, Jesus Christ.

Spurgeon’s Forgotten Sabbatarianism seeks to document Charles Spurgeon’s teaching and practice on the Christian Sabbath. By looking at his biography through his Sunday activities, the listener will see how Spurgeon believed Sabbath observance required laboring for the Lord through worship, preaching, singing, evangelism, Sunday School ministry, and private devotion.

In our current day, lawlessness seems to rule. For too long we have ignored God’s gracious means for having an orderly society and have rejected the power of God's law. This book recovers a vital yet neglected doctrine, the second use of God's moral law, as a means of restraining evil, upholding justice, and preserving order in a fallen world. Rooted in Scripture, historic Baptist confessions, and the wider Protestant tradition, it makes a clear case: God’s law still matters—not just in His church, but in His world.

The pro-life establishment insisted to their Christian and conservative supporters over the course of several decades that Roe was the main factor preventing them from ending abortion in the United States. Yet even after Dobbs, abortion rates not only started to rise in predominantly Democratic states, but also in predominantly Republican states where the pro-life establishment has massive political influence, especially because of a trend toward self-managed abortions.

In the nineteenth century it was not unusual for pastors to produce "manuals" of doctrine for the edification of their flocks. Be Sure What You Believe is in that tradition. The great doctrines of the Bible are discussed with pastoral concern, and are presented with a minimum of academic language. This book can be given to Christians who desire to grow in understanding the teaching of the scriptures, and to seekers as well.

The Folly and Vanity of Youth was inspired by a series of sermons preached by Benjamin Keach (1640-1704) on the parable of the laborers in the vineyard (Matthew 20: 1–16). Expanding upon Keach’s list of sins common to young people, Corey Johnson examines each one in detail, challenging the notion that young age absolves moral responsibility while consistently proclaiming Christ as the only hope for sinners. This book was written with the intention to help bring young people to maturity, encourage them to leave their childish ways.

In vitro fertilization (IVF) is often hailed as a triumph of modern medicine, a compassionate solution for couples longing for a child. But beneath its promise lies a host of profound moral, theological, and ethical concerns that many Christians have never carefully considered. Misconceiving IVF: An Essential Guide to the Perils of In Vitro Fertilization is a compassionate yet uncompromising exploration of IVF through a distinctly biblical lens.
