Alexandra had always loved so much about Christmas—the beauty, the joy, the magical feeling that it brought. It felt like all sorts of amazing things were possible which wouldn’t seem reasonable at other times of year. She loved the thoughtful present giving, the festive songs and films, the sparkly decorations, the mouth-watering food–and that warm and fuzzy feeling of being with special people at a special time. But this joy was stolen from her by emotional abuse from her father.
