Dracula begins with the journal of Jonathan Harker, a young solicitor on the way to Transylvania to give information to the mysterious Count Dracula about his new estate in London. Dracula takes the young man prisoner, and Jonathan sees many strange and evil things in the castle before escaping and fleeing into the night. He later decides that he must have been mad.

These 12 stories reflect the combat infantry experience of the Vietnam War--in the gritty “Tanks,” “Called of God,” and “Incubation Period.” There’s also the woman’s perspective of Arlene, a naive Red Cross volunteer or “Doughnut Dolly,” in “A Man’s World.”

This is the second story in the Tarzan adventure novels. Tarzan has been in England where he has been learning about civilization, his heritage and how he fits into it all as Lord Greystoke. Paul Jacobson, who suffers from short-term memory loss, becomes an undercover resident at a nursing home to help the Honolulu police track down a sexual assault perpetrator. The police give Paul the names of three persons-of-interest and Paul begins investigating. None of the three appear suspicious. Things go downhill when the woman who had been assaulted is found murdered. Paul meets interesting residents, including a woman with synesthesia, a woman who eats soap, and a woman who races wheelchairs. Then someone tries to smother Paul.
