In fact, the Lord himself makes this statement: "But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, you descendants of Abraham my friend." Not even Moses, whom God had spoken to face-to-face, was given the designation of "friend." Indeed, God referred to Moses as His servant. So how was such a relationship possible?
