Ancient Egypt and the war with Ethiopia is the setting for Verdi’s grandest opera. It is the story of the love between Rhadames, the Egyptian general, and Aida, an Ethiopian slave, and the jealousy of Amneris, daughter of the King of Egypt. It was written in 1871 to a commission from the Khedive of Egypt to inaugurate the new opera house in Cairo. Aida generally is considered one of the most spectacular of Verdi’s operas.

Als ein Crewmitglied unter den gleichen Vergiftungssymptomen stirbt, wird die AIDA Cara im Hafen festgesetzt. Frida, eine Reisende an Bord, taucht in die Welt der beiden Opfer ein.

Auf der Transatlantik-Kreuzfahrt von der Dominikanischen Republik nach Europa kommt es zu einem ungewöhnlichen Todesfall an Bord. Schnell lassen die Indizien Frieda Olsen einen eiskalten Auftragsmord vermuten. Zur gleichen Zeit stirbt unter mysteriösen Umständen ein Crewmitglied. Kapitän Petter führt sein Schiff in ein Sturmtief, um die Passagiere in den Kabinen zu halten. Frieda stößt bei ihren Ermittlungen auf einen ehemaligen Gerichtsmediziner, als ein weiteres Mordopfer entdeckt wird.

Kapitän Olsen ist gezwungen, im Roten Meer den saudiarabischen Kommissar Abdel Rahman an Bord zu nehmen, der zwischen beiden Morden einen Zusammenhang vermutet. Während der Kapitän sich um die Sicherheit von Passagieren und Besatzung sorgt, verfolgt der saudische Kommissar ein ganz eigenes Ziel.
