The World Series is almost here, and the postseason drama isn't slowing down ~

After the Milwaukee Brewers swept the Los Angeles Dodgers in a historic NLCS rematch, all eyes are on the American League Championship Series (ALCS).

The Tampa Bay Rays have taken a 3-2 series lead over the Cleveland Guardians after winning back-to-back games this weekend. Now, the Rays are just one win away from their first World Series appearance since 2020, but Cleveland has already proven that elimination doesn't mean defeat.

In this episode of Baseball for Girls, we’re catching up on the end of the Division Series and the first few games of the League Championship Series!!

The Guardians completed a historic comeback against the White Sox, going from down 0-2 in the ALDS to winning the series and advancing to face the Rays. Then Cleveland kept that momentum going with a 7-3 win over Tampa Bay in Game 1 of the ALCS!

On the National League side, the Brewers are making their rematch against the Dodgers feel very different from last year. After being swept by Los Angeles in the 2025 NLCS, Milwaukee has opened this year’s series with two straight wins and now leads the Dodgers 2-0.

*Correction: During the episode, I accidentally said Mason Miller was being stretched over “six innings.” I meant six outs, or two innings. Miller entered in the eighth inning and was being asked to record six outs instead of the typical three-out save opportunity.

What do you play for when you already know you can’t win?

Hey babes ~

As the regular season comes to an end, most of the baseball world is focused on the teams headed to October. But this episode is for everyone else: the teams that were eliminated weeks ago and still showed up to the ballpark every single day.

In this episode, we’re talking about:

• What it means to keep playing after postseason hopes are gone
• Why an eliminated team can still have plenty to play for
• The strange vulnerability of failing publicly and having to keep performing
• Why fans keep watching even when their team can’t make the playoffs
• The players, families, traditions, and communities that give “meaningless” games meaning
• Why being eliminated from one version of the future doesn’t mean your season is over
