About this listen

Manuscript discovered May 2021, in Aldershot, United Kingdom, by local rambler Bryan Potter, who found it buried beneath a pile of bricks in the middle of the woods. Bryan Potter died one week later due to an undiagnosed heart condition.

The summer holidays are here and school's out, but boredom quickly sets in for the penniless kids of the Redsow housing estate. In an effort to escape some local bullies, best friends Ashley and Jude decide to brave Devil's Ditch, a place deep in the woods that everyone says is haunted. At first, everything seems fine, but then they discover an old farmhouse covered in weeds. There's a naked woman chained up inside. Her name is Rose, and there's something not quite right about her.

If you love dread-filled stories full of scares, then Witch is the book you've been waiting for.

Probably aimed at teens.. the narrator did a decent job, but the story... a bit too juvenile for me.

oh dear

I wasn't sure what I'd make of this title at first, but it actually pretty good. enjoyable listen and found the narrator quite decent too.

pretty good

This story was gripping and not in the lines of any other book I have come across. The narration was very good with believable accents that made the characters solid.

Unique story line and good narration

This is a great addition to the cursed manuscript series. I have read them out of order but they all stand up well as stand alone novels. Well written and edge of the seat listening throughout. Aubrey Parsons is an excellent narrator and once again knocks this one out of the arena. Highly Recommended.

Dark and humorous

Overall I liked the story and the ending, but I didn’t really enjoy the style. Very odd to have the characters making quips during what ought to have been tense scenes…it really distracted from the plot.

I think I would’ve enjoyed it more if I’d have read it - I didn’t like the narrator, particularly when he was speaking the female parts - he was just annoying!

A weird blend of horror and comedy that didn’t really work for me
