Summary

Emily Carlton's life is going nowhere. Single, broke, and stuck in a job she hates, life is a never-ending treadmill of monotony and routine. But at least tonight will be different. She's due to meet old friends and have fun at the beach. But the fun quickly gets out of hand when one of Emily's friends brutally attacks an illegal immigrant in a fit of racist anger.

The consequences are dire, and they soon find themselves on the wrong side of a malevolent curse. A curse that gives them the worst luck. Deadly luck.

If you love dread-filled stories full of scares, then Bad Luck is the book you've been waiting for. Grab your copy today and see what listeners have been shouting about.

This book is a part of The Cursed Manuscripts shared universe.

On December 21, 2012, according to the Mayan Calendar, the world was supposed to end. It didn't. But on that day, 113 mysterious manuscripts were discovered around the world, each one written in blood by an unknown author. After several dozen unexplained deaths befell the finders of said manuscripts, a decision was made to lock them up for good in a secret vault beneath the Vatican. It is said that anyone who reads the stories will die, and as such they are now referred to as The Cursed Manuscripts.

great book

This has been my first book by the author, and it certainly won't be the last.
The writing is easy flowing and well paced, the characters authentic, and the story is fascinating.
I listened to the audiobook, and it took a while to get used to the narrator - he can't do voices well (females are high pitched sqeeks, males are low pitched growls), but the english accent was great.

Good listen

Not a bad listen. Narrator is one of my favourites. Parts of the storyline is predictable however still good.

Great story

A typical Iain Rob Wright tale of good and evil, it surprised me many times throughout with various twists, and ended very satisfactorily.

Great narration too.

I was lucky enough to receive my copy free of charge in exchange for my honest review.

If it wasn't for....

If it wasn't for bad luck then the 6 young people who met up with a group of immigrants and ended up being cursed in this story wouldn't have had any! Another brilliant listen from Rob Wright, a well written story with a touch of humour despite being in the horror genre. I really enjoyed this book and listened to it in more or less 1 sitting, just couldn't "put it down". All enhanced by the superb narration of Aubrey Parsons with his wonderful array of voices.
I was kindly given a copy of the book and leave this honest review.
