it's a good book!

Caleb has what can only be called a horny, golden retriever energy throughout!

Whit is a more complex character, but he's mostly a sweetheart throughout.

I don't believe that we need to know absolutely everything about our significant others, but I DO believe that we do need to told those things that either concern or affect their partners & sadly, this is the only downside to the book for me.

Also the fact that because it's a female, it doesn't matter, left a really sour taste... there were ways that could've been handled & it wasn't handled well by the author, IMO!

I really wasn't a fan of Magnus, both because the author couldn't make their mind up about his personality, one minute he's shy, then he's obsessed with Whit, then he's terrified of Caleb & into him, then it's just friendship (I got whiplash) & also because he WAS far too flirtatious with Caleb. When you hug someone & your legs wrap around their waist, there's absolutely nothing innocent about it, unless it's a child.

Also, that he never once visited Whit or even tried to make sure that Whit was OK. with friends like those, who needs enemies.

This book was superb. It’s mm romance at its best. It was funny, captivating, angsty, full of love and longing and delicious spice and the HEA was perfect. The narration in this book was brilliant and brought the adorable characters to life.

This is a laugh out loud funny but beautifully sweet love story. All of the characters (but especially Caleb and his family❤️) were loveable right from the start. I can't wait to listen to the other books in this series.

The narrators (two of my favs!) were SO good, it wasn't just a 'listen along' thing, it was a full performance! I felt every emotion the characters did and laughed hard so many times. Cora is one of my favourite authors, and this book is now in my top 10, along with several of their others. 🥰!

The story was touching and had my heart aching for Whit and Caleb more than once but then minutes later Calebs antics had me laughing out loud to the point people were looking at me funny. He is such a golden Retriever to Whits serious and quiet demeanor. I loved both of them in equal measure but for competent different reasons. *Shout out to the voice actors who brought these guys to life, you did an amazing job and kept me in the moment when listening to the banter.
I don't want to give spoilers but this is an MM college romance but the focus is on the relationship between two roommates and how the supposedly straight Caleb realises he is not all that straight when he becomes obsessed with Whit. Their journey is peppered with funny moments especially with Calebs crazy family and the easy acceptance of his 'coming out' while Whit struggles with deamons and a not so good relationship with his family who have never accepted his sensuality at all.
I will definatly be continuing this series and I need to know Sam and Magnus's story next... it's gonna be so fun with that little whirlwind of trouble.
