About this listen

Sometimes your dream guy isn’t who you think he is.

Sem has been stalking me for months. He shows up everywhere I am and lurks in the background, his eyes always on me. I don’t understand his fascination with me, but he won’t leave me alone.

He’s definitely not my type. He’s too big, too reckless, and too feral.

But then one night he breaks into my apartment and dares me to do something crazy and I can’t say no.

Then I do it again. And again.

Now it seems we’re both addicted to this secret little game.

But when I begin to see the man beneath the brutish exterior, will falling in love prove to be the most reckless bet yet?

Warning: this story deals with bullying and contains some homophobic language.

It was fun, made me laugh, a lot!! Loved the narrators performance. Alexander did a brilliant job voicing Magnus. It's not a story full of twists and turns, it's slightly unhinged which makes it hilarious and with lots of sweet moments.

Conflicting, yes. But oh so good!

This book gave me conflicting thoughts. One part of me spent the whole time thinking that Sem should really be committed (or arrested)… but then, other (probably bigger) part didn’t want to see him away from Magnus. So there’s that!
Also, most of the van Beek pastimes involve things I have strong opinions against (of course, guns!!). So, why did I laugh so much?!

After reading the first book, I didn’t expect these two characters to gel so well. But Cora Rose managed to make sense out of them. The story’s rhythm is a plus, with no time wasted on dead moments or unnecessary fluff.

Well, in the end, conflicting as it might be, I really enjoyed the book!

As for Whit, the previous title in the series, the narration felt quite a bit imbalanced. Probably, even more so.
Having already read the ebook before listening, I was AMAZED BY ALEXANDER CENDESE.... He made Magnus even better and quirkier!!!! Liam DiCosimo is a great narrator but, perhaps, not the best fit for a duet with Cendese.

Dear Lord of llama bowties!!!

I really enjoyed this! Not as much as book 1 (and book 3) but it’s still a really good book! Maggie is such a good character! Loved his Authenticity, vulnerability and his fire! I wish we got some resolution with his family, although I’ve since discovered that one of his brothers have their own spin off book which i shall read soon.
I loved how Sem just accepted Maggie and demanded he stay true to himself! He’s protective and fierce when it comes to keeps Maggie safe, even if at times I found it could have been addressed with some mention of anger management etc. I also loved how Mag showed Sem that he’s talented in his own right and worthy of love!

Another Great read!
