About this listen

On my eighteenth birthday, I got kicked out of my home, mugged in an alley, and killed a guy with my mind ... then things got weird.

I expected aging out of the foster care system to be hard. I wasn't expecting it to include finding out I was a Warlock, destined to be hunted by the most powerful Witch Families so they could bind me to a coven of thirteen witches and spend the rest of my life "harvesting mana". Add to that a set of magical resonants that made me an even bigger target to some of those Witch Families, some of which would rather kill me than let a rival get me.

How's a warlock supposed to stay alive and free? Simple - just go to Witch College, find thirteen witches willing to be bound to you forever in your own coven, and learn enough magic to fend off the most powerful Witch Families in the world.

Well done, looking forward to book two.
I had real difficulty putting it down when I had other things to do, even sat up most of the night to finish it.

Very well written and narrated

I waited for this so come out on audio to enjoy it, and I'm so glad I waited. the story is brilliant and a unique twist on the classic all girls school trope, the characters are fantastic and the slow burn in to the romance is expertly done. not to mention the absolutely fantastic performances by both narrators. honestly can't wait for the second book.

The story is compelling and hard to stop listening to. Funny but also serious and heartfelt at times. The characters are just so interesting and performed beautifully, they really are brought to life by the voice actors. It's just so good this is the second time I'm listening to the warlock series to try and stave off my hunger for the third installment.

a great first part of a potential series. the world building is spaced, paced, and very believably done, the main character, Noah, is s lovable fish out of water, and given the place of being special without being The Special One, and powerful without being overpowered, learning and earning his skills. the women in the world are real people, not just there to fawn or be on need of Noah, and this makes you want some more slice of life scenes with them.
