©2016 Danielle Stewart (P)2017 Danielle StewartI really enjoyed this book. It was a suspense and kind of thriller novel with an easily predictable twist (I guessed it in the second chapter), but enjoyable plot nonetheless.
Tara wakes up in hospital after an overdose, having never used drugs. She then embarks on a journey in order to retain custody of her son, Wylie, with the help of defence attorney and childhood friend Reid, who isn't altogether convinced of her innocence, and Reid's investigative friend Willow.
Tara was a well characterised character, even if at times she annoyed me. I much preferred Willow and Reid, especially Reid, who was very much a flawed individual.
The narrator, Laura Jennings, was also brilliant. Every character felt like they had distinctive voices and it felt much easier to sympathise with Tara through the narration.
