Summary
Mesmerising, darkly erotic, terrifying, The Vampire Armand is an historic instalment to Anne Rice's internationally best-selling Vampire Chronicles.
Magnificent and electrifying, The Vampire Armand tells the tale of the mesmerising leader of the vampire coven the Theatre des Vampires in Paris.
This angel-faced killer was snatched from the steppes of Russia as a child and sold as a slave in Renaissance Venice. From there Armand's story spans several hundred years, culminating in a visit to New Orleans at the end of the 20th century.
Here his victims await either death or immortality. But once there his own existence comes into question when he must choose between salvation and his immortal soul.

Good story, slightly irritating delivery
As others have said, Mr Marosz's delivery of the story is not as good as that by Simon Vance who narrates most of the other Vampire Chronicles. Each to their own, and I'm sure Jonathan has his fans, I'm just not one of them.

Odd
Bit odd and beautiful story. Like a painting of horrors and sorrows that are repeated in past, present and likely will be repeat in future.

Good story but not performancr
This is my 2nd time with this story once text once audible. The story is good not my favourite Anne Rice. However like others have said the vocals do not match. There is no real feeling sad the voices do not match the characters in the slightest. If you can read but text rather than listening then do that as the voice does ruin the story.

Wonderful story, disappointing narration
The Vampire Armand is one of my favourites of the Vampire Chrinicles, but compared to Simon Vance I found the narrator irritating and disappointing

So varied and wondrous
Armand (Amedeo) in all his wonder - honest, brutal, fallible, beautiful - in search of true long lasting love - it’s an incredible story (do make sure you’ve read Memnoch first to truly understand the setting)
Enjoy!

The Narrator wasn't great but the story was.
The Narrator for the first hour was so monotone and I almost stopped listening. I'm glad I stuck with it as the story was great and I liked Armand's back story. Also I needed to hear the continuation of the other Vampire Chronicles.

Not the best so far
After Simon Vance narrated the previous books it was difficult to adjust to Jonathan Marosz. The story was fair but no where near as much action or intrigue as previous books.

Okay
I found this really hard to listen to. Previous books in the series were narrated by Simon Vance and I didn’t enjoy Jonathan Marosz nearly as much.
I didn’t feel the story as good as some of the previous ones either but onwards to the next book I feel.

Simply engrossing to the last
As a massive fan of The Vampire Chronicles I found this one to be utterly engrossing like the first time I read it Armand is a highly complex and misunderstood character from the previous books Anne Rice gives this mysterious character a soul, he's a person who now has a second chance at life with his mortal companions Benji and the enigmatic Sybelle if you enjoyed his little segments in the first 3 books then you've stumbled on your read for the day

Good story...
The narrator was just not very good at all. I liked Armand, I think his story was interesting, and I felt sorry for him for most of it. It just took me a while to finish because the narrator's voice was really difficult to listen to!
