This series has it all except needless violence and unnecessary profanity - thank goodness! Twisty plots full of red herrings (which often reveal adjunct but distinct crimes), an irascible but sympathetic lead character - i really like George Cross … not that he would care! The stories have gentle humor, relatable supporting characters who we are getting to know more about in each book, and an insight into the unusual world of a brilliant detective. More please!

What an amazing author and a truly entertaining story. So much humour with twists and turns all the way through. Cross is a brilliant detective you can almost hear the cogs turning as he mulls over the evidence in his mind.
