About this listen

An eighty-year-old man is found murdered in his home. His age and standing in the community makes finding his killer difficult–why would anyone harm an elderly man? What threat could he possibly be to anyone?

With no apparent motive, DS George Cross canvases the community for potential suspects but the man was known as generous, charitable, community-minded. Each interview about who the man is muddies the picture further. So Cross decides to look for who he was–revealing a past that is far less honourable than his present . . .

Perfect for fans of MW Craven, Peter James and Joy Ellis, The Teacher is part of the DS George Cross thriller series, which can be listened to in any order.

I’ve really enjoyed this series and have listened to all the books back to back. I look forward to the next one.

Great series

I love all the DS Cross books and this is the best yet. A superb story, so clever and absorbing. The characters are so well drawn and the tensions caused by George Cross's 'quirks' are really well described, There's a lot of humour there as well. My only minor reservation relates to the description of the trial in the Crown Court when many of the procedures and words are American and have no place in English trial proceedings. It's a common error but disappointing none the less. This won't worry most people, though, and it's still a brilliant read!

Quite superb

l like the series of these stories, how George copes with different situations people and his his autism.

George is the characters that holds all these stories together.

I loved the first book and then binged the rest of the series, so well written, and the intricacies of small details, never guessed the killers throughout.
Such a sympathetic portrait of autism also
I’m a bit gutted now I’ve read them all. More please!!

Best in the series so far ! ( though I seem to think that after each one )
Complex characters and storyline but intriguing and never lacking pace .
A particularly difficult scenario was handled in such a manner as to allow
the incident to be disturbing but necessary ,and the outcome extremely satisfactory.
I was sorry to reach the last page and hoping there won’t be too long a wait for DC Cross
to be doing what he does best yet again .

BRILLIANT!
