Summary
One night, when I am old, sick, right out of semen and don't need things to get any worse, I hear the noises growing louder. I am sure they are making love in Zenab's bedroom, which is next to mine.
Waldo, a fêted filmmaker, is confined by old age and ill health to his London apartment. Frail and frustrated, he is cared for by his lovely younger wife, Zee. But when he suspects that Zee is beginning an affair with Eddie, 'more than an acquaintance and less than a friend for over 30 years', Waldo is pressed to action: determined to expose the couple, he sets himself first to prove his suspicions correct - and then to enact his revenge.

Rambling story of filth and debauched memories
Very well read and the story has some really interesting twists and turns. From a dying old man you hear his current status and some history and how he manipulates people. It's not the sort of book I usually read, but there's something about the way the story is told that's so interesting you want to listen more, I did anyway. I would say, if you aren't fussed about sexual references (some of it could be challenging) then get the book, it's worth it.

Amazing performance
Confronting at first, but morbidly fascinating. This hostile, conniving dying man becomes someone you can't help but love to hate. It keeps you guessing. Is he paranoid, hearing things? Is she really that two faced? Who is tricking and trapping who?
The book is elevated by the brilliant performance of Shaun Barratt. One voice, but many people, and none better, more grimly cantankerous than Waldo himself. Bravo.

Interesting
Fabulously narrated as ever.by Sean Barrett.
Not for the prudish. Interesting Perspective on disability, aging, sexual desire, relationships, power and loyalty.
