About this listen

Starship Victory is on its loneliest mission yet. Captain Maddox and his crew are thousands of light-years from Earth, searching for the dreaded Swarm Imperium.

But there are androids among them seeking to use the starship for hidden purposes.

Maddox and the crew are on their own, facing perils inside the ship and terrifying alien dangers outside in one of the remotest regions of the Orion Arm. Then they stumble upon the darkest secret of all. Unless the A.I. Galyan, Meta, Sergeant Riker and the others can help their beleaguered captain, Victory is doomed and Earth will never learn of the terrible threat gathering in the stellar darkness.

The Lost Patrol is the fifth book in the Lost Starship Series.

This was the first Vaughn Heppner audiobook I tried out for size. It really caught my attention so much so that I've been glued to the series. Personally, I find this particular series brilliant both in scale and its complex storyline which never gets too cloudy as to lose the thread of where it's taking its reader. Marvellous piece of work and the narrator is just right for it too. Well worth listening to, but I suggest you begin with the first book in the series rather than mirroring me.

Among my all time favourite sci-fi series keeps getting better. Wonderful array of plot elements, vast sweeping scale, in time and space.Never a dull moment. Superbly narrated.

The best keeps getting better.

I am at a loss to understand why any captain of any ship would have Valerie anywhere near the bridge with her continual questioning of orders in front of crew and the enemy, let alone leave her in charge of a bridge! Perhaps you just can’t get the staff in the future!

Bearable

Narration was clear and well preformed. Both he and the story (writer) keep me listening on the edge of my seat.

I should point out that I've really come enjoy this series and may be a little biased.

This series just keep getting better for me.
