Continues the good work but.
The one down side was the constant “upgrade” within the book. I would guess that at least 1/4 of the book is spent listening to upgrades or analyse instead of the story.
Overall still good and worth spending the credit for it but it seems more like a filler book to the bigger story.

For lovers of incest and beastiality
Upon listening to this book you will learn many things. The author loves repetition, copy and paste, incest and beastiality. The author has limited imagination and often repeats the same scenario again and again albeit in a slightly different location when he is not just coping and pasting. The author is obsessed with sex but clearly shows a lack of any experience in his writing. Every character has more or less the same personality and all use sexual innuendos as often as possible. All characters male or female throw themselves at the main protagonist for sexual desires and worship including the royal families. Female characters are portrayed as old fashioned stereotypes and appear to only exist in this book for bowing down to the sexual desires of their dear lord.

Great addition to the series
So I am on my second go through and their is so much more to the story that I missed on my first go through.
I have read all 7 of the books and listened to them (Mostly twice now). I know some people complain about the prompts but I love that type of info. It makes the book feel more real.
For anyone considering this series: The Mc acts like a real person. He will do good and bad things. Some things people consider cruel (My brother and I got in to a discussion about that). Here is the thing I can’t say I’d do any less in his position. I mean honestly he is. A much nicer person than I would be in that situation.
Con: here is the only reason it did not make 5 stars. While I love prompts the description of the goblins was a bit tedious when it kept repeating racial facts. That would be my only real suggestion to skip over.

This is not a good book. Definetly. I cant copy a
(just to warn you this is NOT a short review)
This book isn't a "good" book and it definitely, isn't a great book. As many of the reviews will tell you, it's more of a guilty pleasure than anything else. Reliant upon common literary mechanics and world building to make up for its poor character work. The author however menages to ruin even this careful equilibrium by writing numerous chapters that are so bad their almost unreadable. To put it simply, where do I even start? The misogynistic comments alone are tolerable (due mainly to their irregularity) and ranged from really really messed up to downright perverted. Perverted, because of a whole host of reasons. Not the good kind of perverted either (ie:kinky) just downright F'ed up. For instance there is one scene where the main character remarks on how great a women breasts are, right after he brutally murdered her. In another scene he contemplates how he could drug the girls in his village ( who are technically under his control) to ensure that they would have sex with him. And that is just one part of it. (Read on I dare you) In another part of the book he discovers a sentient race living under neath his lands and instead of seeking to befriend them, he invades their lands and murders them. (Want details, no problem read on (p.s. I find this particularly ironic since the book is called alliances)) Well, to start one time he comes across a pair of brothers and uses a spell on one of them. (not bad right, well once again dear reader. I say to you read on) He than forces the creature to murder his brother before having a conversation with him about how to avoid his peoples defenses and... then murders him too. Later in the story he than proceeds to enter the land of one of the other tribes in the region and kills anyone he comes into contact with. During his battles (I told you this was gonna be a long one) he menages to capture a few prisoners and magically forces them to help him out. After providing them with food he is disgusted to learn that they eat their meat raw, shortly after the point where he tore out one of his prisoners eyes and used it for a potion. Following this (because a book can never have enough wanton blood shed) he forces the captives to lead him to one of their work sites. Where he than moves on to magically take control of the guards and force them to massacre ( the word that the book uses is slaughter) all of the workers,( p.s. If this book has a genocide achievement the main character has more than earned it.) Workers who pose by the way absolutely, no threat to him, what so ever. ( I just want you to remember that throughout all of this that these are people we are talking about people with family's, Children, Husbands, Wives, mothers, and fathers.). To add insult to injury the main charterers bonded dragon than proceeds to defecate on one of the corpses( something which the main character finds hilarious), And that my dear readers is just a small sample of what awaits you. To everyone who has made it this far, I congratulate you. You are well deserving of my respect. I know it was a lot, I'm just glad you manged to make it through all of it. ( and to those who skipped to the end well... I don't blame you.) In all fairness part of the reason I'm so upset about this, is because up until this point it actually isn't a terrible book. In fact its incredibly clear the author truly enjoys his work and has fully invested him self in the effort. So too me it is less of a expected literary atrocity and more of a shocking betrayal. Something all the more devastating in my humble opinion.

Gnomes Rule
Another beautifully told story of adventure and leveling up in the land. My only issues were that some of the prompts and level building can seem tedious. There were a couple of lengthy in depth descriptions that I zoned out during. Overall the level of complexity that Aleron is constructing with each story is phenomenal.

The books have devolved completely at this point.
Within the first 5 chapters of the story, AT LEAST an hour of the book is just reading stats of items, talents and skill descriptions. It's been steadily getting worse with easy book but at this point I'm almost ready to just delete the rest of the series. I wish I hadn't bought all of these books.

Moving way too slow
This series sets up lots of enemies and setpieces that haven't been resolved by the end of the fifth book. With only two left, I cannot imagine this series is going to have anything resembling a satisfying conclusion. There are just so many hanging threads that should have been tied up now. It doesn't help that the MC develops really slowly. The plot seems to suggest that he should be formidable by now, but his settlement is small and he himself is super wimpy. Winning by luck isn't that satisfying to read. I get that combat needs tension but most people don't almost lose literally every fight they've been in. Every fight is identical: Start doing some damage->enemy not that bothered-> enemy does damage, MC almost dies->plot armor saves the day.
Also, author has a torture fetish. Best to keep that in mind since you'll see a lot of it.

The saga continues with gusto!
Richter, Randolphus, Scion, Fueton, and of course Alma continue to contribute to the growth of Misty Village. The Pixies and Sprites have sworn fealty to Richter thus increasing Richter’s power, affinity, and military strength to some degree. Richter has been lovingly described as the sword carrying, magic wielding, master of a place of power. I have also named him King of Idioms. Richter is constantly busy grinding his limitless attributes, skills, and spells. His latest favorites are smithing, enchanting, patrolling, building, and scribing. The saga continues with gusto!

well presented well polished shiny chrome turd
I started this series and continued reading till I couldnt stop vomiting the gross humor, immorality, arrogant preening , condescending self worship, immature , weak shallow minded influence that has been shoved down my throat in the process. great narrator but this writer has lowered my expectations for any future reading either narrated or written ....ps by no means would reading this series be a good influence to yours or your kids life in fact pretty sure young adults will be led astray by this book

Pathetic attempt to gain support.
The surprise and deceptively delivered relationship between the protagonist and his animal trainer male and female siblings(prostitutes) is so disgusting and twisted I can not support this author or his work anymore. Waiting until this deep into a series to reveal this level of moral filth in your main character is disgusting and pathetic. I will never listen to another of this authors book.
