Summary

Dr. Aleron Kong is the father of American LitRPG. Join him in his best-selling LitRPG saga, The Land. The journey of terrifying adventures, dangerous enemies, and heart-stopping wonder continues here.

"This is the world you were meant to fight for!"

Welcome to the sixth vivacious installment of Aleron Kong's Chaos Seeds series.

The time of hiding has passed. The Mist Village will make itself known. Goblins have invaded Richter’s lands. Though the first incursion has been defeated, the anger of Chaos Seed remains. Those who challenge Richter’s power will learn there is a reason all creatures fear the mist.... It is the home of monsters.

For the first time, Richter takes the battle to his enemies. He will live up to his name, and the very Land will shake with this power. With his allies, the wood sprites of Nadria, the army of the Mist Village marches to war. Richter has been a healer, an enchanter, a dungeon diver, and a killer. Now he becomes something more. He becomes a raider!

This is a world of wonder and horror. This is a world of pain and joy. This is the world of monsters...and the brave men who battle them. Welcome back my friends!

Welcome back...to the Land!

Just brilliant

I love this series and this might be the best yet. The narrator sounds believable and doesn’t detract from the story.

wow can't wait for the next one!

I really love these books, I just can't get enough the only thing that bugs me is hearing stats of things that are going to die soon after, it would be better if he just summed it up. still even with that one of the best series of listen to.

Ok so im hooked!!!

In the last 8 days I have nailed to entire series so far available on audible, that great is my addiction to this story!! The last time I did that was Mistborn/Alloy of Law Series by Brandon Sanderson, (Which is by far(but no so far now) my favourite series of books). Just, Wow, where on earth do you come up with these ideas and the magical systems, the detail and depth of multiple characters, but yet still make it easy to follow and enjoyable to listen to! honestly I'm in awe.
Alongside the story itself the Narrator is Spectacular, the way he tells the story and defines the characters is exquisite.
looking forward to the next one

Prompts and Yet More Prompts: The RPG

I really like the Chaos Seeds series, but book 5 and book 6 were lacking in overall storyline and plot. Instead, it was listening to prompt after prompt after prompt.

You know what it was like? As a teen, I begged my boyfriend to teach me Dungeon and Dragons. Instead of spending time being a good teacher or playing a good game, he would instead spend hours bragging through all the choice he could have made. He would elaborate on what powers he chose for his characters and boast endlessly about how MinMaxed his character was. I would sit there screaming internally for him to get over his self ego pumping blow job and just let us play the game. What was more frustrating was that I had read his world material and the game potential was amazing....but every game required sitting there, nodding like a bobble head and trying to slog through the endless descriptions of shit that didn't matter.

That is exactly what book 5 was like as prompts would describe endless powers and potentials and repeating information that wasn't even being used by Richter immediately. There were so many repeating prompts, my husband put a ban on playing any more Chaos Seeds Audible files in the car because he refused to listen to "Someone reading off their Mary Sue character sheet over and over."

There is an amazing story here and I'm slogging through trying to find it, but both book 5 and book 6 feel like they're 75% prompts and point allocation and only 25% actual storyline. After 6 books we should be so much further into the actual story, more things on Richter's To Do list should be done, more exploration should be completed. I find myself hitting the 30second skip button now when I hear the "Prompt" voice start up...once I nearly skipped a full chapter because there were just that many useless prompts. Maybe its easier when reading, but I use audible for 90% of my books now a days.

What I hate is there is a good story here, but I'll probably never relisten to this series because I'm hating how much of a chore it is to get through the prompts. I wish I knew how to get this review to Aleron directly because I want to tell him his story is intriguing and I want to read it till the end...but the constant interruption of the storyline with the Richter reading an endless list of character stuff feels like being forced to sit through commercials in a movie. There is no satisfaction after SIX BOOKS to give you a feeling of completion. Its just a constant never ending cliff hanger from one book to the next without enough actual story to make you feel satisfied. Its beginning to feel pointless...probably because all the points got spent at some prompt I skipped over during a +5 boredom rebuff.

Aleron‘ got the skill

This is the second book he has written that has caused me to tear up. Maybe it’s just me, but the way he writes of certain characters death really hits me hard. I also enjoy that even now, the MC is still not completely overpowered and has limits he cannot surpass. I am big on community/town building books, but unfortunately this book didn’t focus on that at all, however I still feel that it fits the story well and I understand why it didn’t. I would definitely suggest this book and say that except for a few times when the skills list or items list took more than several minutes to get through that story is well paced and focused.

An absolutely fantastic adventure as always.

I never tire of this most fantastic series. Each character is so delightfully detailed and developed. When this newest entry to the series appeared on Audible I did not hesitate to grab it and I will not hesitate to grab the next installment when it comes out. Until then I will wait with baited breath for that day.

Aleron Kong thank you for writing this fantastic piece of literature.

Nick Podehl thank you for bringing this series to life and all the other series you have done you are easily my most favourite narrator.

Until the next installment I'll be here waiting.

Starting to get bad

Whole chapters of stat reading of repetitive stat descriptions. I must have fast forwarded at least 45 min of the book if you add all the parts up. not sure if I will continue with this series.

Another great book

I really enjoy these books. They take you away from reality and keep your mind entertained. Both the story as well as the performance are excellent.

BEST LITRPG BOOK SERIES IN THE WORLD!

This book is a must-read for anyone who likes fantasy, and especially for those who like litRPGs. I would even go as far as to recommend this book to just about anyone.

Aleron Kong has a unique, invigorating, and captivating writing style. He introduces a refreshingly intricate plot with lots of outstanding situations, but still has the discipline to tie all of these outstanders together - leaving no loose ends - in a way that is more than satisfying without being predictable.

Character development and situational closure are written with enlightenment. Coming from someone who has read all of "The Land" books thus far, Aleron is certainly one of the best authors I have ever seen and I eagerly await the next installments in this series!

Kudos!

In regards to Nick Podehl, he continues to impress me with his storytelling abilities. Unlike a lot of narrators that do audiobooks who are just reading words on a line with minimal effort, Nick seems to personally mesh with the lines that he's reading. He brings to life the characters that he voices, and is able to set a mood by the tone of his voice.

Double Kudos!

Top notch story and narration! 5 stars is not enough!

Nick podehl is by far the best narrator out there. He brings these books to life! It amazes me how he remembers and maintains the exact same voices for characters in this series, book after book. As for the story. I can’t remember another series that has kept me as excited for the next book as the chaos seed storyline has. Aleron Kong is a master of weaving the story together and making it tense and funny and exciting all at once. By far one of my new favorite authors and stories. I highly recommend this book and the previous books in the series!
