Summary
Lorna has loved Blane, Laird of Nairn, for years but his bitter mother, Lady Morna, does what she can to keep Lorna and Blane apart, including arranging a marriage for Blane that will benefit both clans.
When Lorna discovers that Blane is betrothed to Edana, daughter of the Laird of Shetland, after not having seen him in over a year, her world collapses. Edana's parents are pushing for a quick marriage, keeping it a secret from Lady Morna that they are desperate for money.
Desperately needing to see Blane, Lorna visits the castle with her father, and old feelings stir when she sets eyes on him.
