Summary

Harry is back, assigned to the LAPD's Open-Unsolved Unit with his former cop ally and partner, Kizmin Rider. These detectives are the Closers. They are thrown into a politically sensitive and dangerous case when a white supremacist is connected to the 1988 murder of a mixed-race girl.

The police department has changed, but one thing hasn't--Harry's nemesis, Irving. The former deputy chief has been pushed from power and given a virtually meaningless new role. Full of vengeance, Irving calls Harry a "retread". He watches from the sidelines like an injured bear, hoping Harry will make a mistake...

Loved it!

The Bosch stories never fail to keep me hooked throughout. The story line is unpredictable and the characters are human.

Enjoyable listen

I’m addicted to the Bosch series, but this was spoilt by the audio jumping in parts, from 5 hours in. Other than that a great listen

Bosch, but not at his best

Good development of character and overall plot arc of the series. But the story within this novel gets stuck in the detail and loses momentum.

recommended

Much enjoyed it, stars to narrator & author. Audio skipped a few times though, so a black mark for Audible.

good book, awful narrator

Great book, as always from Michael Connelly, but hard to listen to with this narrator. The "wh" pronounciation and over-pronounciation at times makes it hard to listen to. this wasnt an issue in previous books he narrated. audio skips and jumps quite a bit too

Good book but annoying narrator

The pronunciation of most Ws just ruins a good story! So annoying! Feel like turning it off every time he says words like who when or why!

Good story, glitch recording

Another good Bosch story but the recording has about 10-12 times were it repeats of glitches. Distracting.

Technical problems

Several times the sound stopped for some seconds. Also whole sentences or words were repeated. You should check and fix this issue
