About this listen

Includes the following Harry Bosch thrillers, award-winning and all voiced by standout Broadway veteran Len Cariou:

ECHO PARK (2007 Audie Award Winner for Mystery): In 1995, Marie Gesto disappeared after walking out of a supermarket in Hollywood. Harry Bosch worked the case but couldn't crack it, and the 22-year-old woman never turned up, dead or alive. Now Bosch is in the Open-Unsolved Unit, where he still keeps the Gesto file on his desk, when he gets a call from the DA. Michael Connelly's suspenseful new novel pits the detective People magazine calls "one of the most complex crime fighters around" against one of the most sadistic killers he has ever confronted. It confirms that Michael Connelly "is the best writer of suspense fiction working today" (Richmond Times-Dispatch).
THE NARROWS (AudioFile Magazine Earphones Award Winner): FBI agent Rachel Walling finally gets the call she's dreaded for years, the one that tells her the Poet has surfaced. She has never forgotten the serial killer who wove lines of poetry in his hideous crimes--and apparently he has not forgotten her.
Former LAPD detective Harry Bosch gets a call, too--from the widow of an old friend. Her husband's death seems natural, but his ties to the hunt for the Poet make Bosch dig deep. Arriving at a derelict spot in the California desert where the feds are unearthing bodies, Bosch joins forces with Rachel. Now the two are at odds with the FBI...and squarely in the path of the Poet, who will lead them on a wicked ride out of the heat, through the narrows of evil, and into a darkness all his own...

THE OVERLOOK: In his first case since he left the LAPD's Open Unsolved Unit for the prestigious Homicide Special squad, Harry Bosch is called out to investigate a murder that may have chilling consequences for national security. A doctor with access to a dangerous radioactive substance is found murdered in the trunk of his car. Retracing his steps, Harry learns that a large quantity of radioactive cesium was stolen shortly before the doctor's death. With the cesium in unknown hands, Harry fears the murder could be part of a terrorist plot to poison a major American city.

Critic reviews

"Len Cariou's pitch- perfect performance is understated yet expressive. His tone, pacing, and characterization capture the inner turmoil of the detective and the grittiness of the corrupt environment in which he operates. The abridgment never seems choppy or incomplete. And those new to the series will be drawn in without missing a beat. Connelly writes a compelling story with a strong sense of place, and Cariou delivers it with style."—-AudioFile Magazine on Echo Park
"How smart and fortunate for listeners that Hachette Audio has turned to veteran Connelly reader Len Cariou for some added weight. Cariou catches all the strength and sadness behind Bosch's minimal dialogue and is also perfect as Harry's LAPD colleagues, female and male. He is especially good at bringing to frightening life the real villains. "—-Publishers Weekly on The Overlook
"Connelly (Echo Park) delivers a masterly piece of cotemporary fiction that goes beyond the average police procedural. Connelly's novels are quite simply only getting better with age; the banter of the murder investigation is smart and the action taut. This sixth narraton of a Bosch mystery by Len Cariou is excellent and brings the characters to life. Highly recommended."—-Libary Journal on The Overlook

I enjoy Michael Connolly's Harry Bosch books so much. I started a long time ago with a holiday read and became addicted. The Box Set gives you 3 very good listens and all are as enjoyable as the next. Be careful how you download them though. My Ipod (my downloading) got them mixed up and following from book to book was difficult for me and when you can't wait to get to the next chapter that's frustrating! Also, you should try to listen to them in order as the newer ones refer to the older but it won't spoil your listen if you do, just makes it more 'comfortable' when he refers to goings on in past books.

I love Harry!

excellent performance and compelling throughout. Excellent twists. pacing was excellent. very enjoyable, nothing too grim or heavy.

I'm not sure they were in the right order but that didn't really matter

Love the Bosch stories and this collection is no exception.
The only issue I have is the quality of the recording.
All three recordings occasionally skip or repeat sentences like listening to a scratched CD making for quite annoying reading.

Great stories but the quality of the recording lets it down

Many times throughout the box set the audio would skip, jump and freeze. It really detracts from the story especially at key moments when you miss dialogue. You waste time skipping back but the faults are still there. It’s a shame as they’re good stories which are well performed

Good stories but corrupted audio throughout
