This is an excellent series, genuinely. Historical detail, fine research and a narrator with the ability to bring it all to life. Tenacious though is so far for me the absolute pinnacle of this series. Stockwin once again blends his characters superbly with real historical events without ever re-writing them significantly to give his inventions too much prominence. He finds some clever ways of involving Kydd in the drama including the titanic Battle of the Nile.

And this isn't just about the action, Kydd's torturous attempts to become a gentlemen and Renzi's constant battles with the demons and real illness that afflict his tortured soul make this a genuinely multi-faceted story.

Thrilling, historically accurate and genuinely well-written. Bravo Messrs Stockwin and Rodska, take a bow!

Bang! A Genuine Triumph!
