Six years following his marriage to Jessica and their coronation, Pat learns just how far greedy politicians will go to safeguard their wealth, status, and power. After being taken from his family and home, Pat decides he’ll just rescue himself and ruin their plans while he's at it.

Texas is about to learn their king is far more than the horse loving, boot scraping of a chef they believe he is.

In chronological order, Taken takes place following Storm Called.

Best listened to after “Storm Called” which introduces the world of the Royal States of America and the main character, Pat and Jessica.

Jessica is now the Queen of Texas, Pat is the King, and they have two children, the highly precocious Deirdre and the not quite toddler Adam.

As with Storm Called this book is written from Pat’s point of view. It starts off with a picture of how much Pat’s life has changed, from part time chef to overworked monarch, though his compassion and love of family, horses and anything that is suffering has grown.

He is suddenly snatched away from everything that matters to him and dumped, alone and unconscious, in an escape-proof house.

How does he cope? How can he escape? Why was he taken?

Listen and enjoy the romp.

Enjoyable short novel in the Royal States of America

However improbable, the first volume of this story concerning rags to riches in Royal Texas, it was at least engaging enough. This continuation was dull and pointless. Couldn't be bothered with the last hour.

Tedious nonsense
