About this listen

Tattooed Protector. Hollywood Princess.

Nick Gallo lives wild and free, avoiding any complications or drama. But when he overhears a conversation at a late-night taco stand, he can’t help but insert his two cents, telling the woman she was too good for that kind of hassle.

Josephine Carmichael lives in the crosshairs of the paparazzi as the child of a Hollywood power-couple. But when her celebrity boyfriend has an affair while they’re on vacation, she takes off to the middle-of-nowhere Florida, ending up crying in her nachos.

And when Nick finds Josephine sleeping in the parking lot of a local store, his protective instincts take over. What starts out as a simple favor takes them down a road they never imagined.

Book 6 in the Heatwave series, and this one follows Nick Gallo. He has quite the meet cute with Josephine and from the Taco stand to the hotel room, their connection is boiling hot and it never fizzles. Jo isn't having the easiest time, her parents are famous and don't really care and everyone wants to use her or her name. Until The Gallo's come into her life and show her maybe a small town in Florida isn't such a bad place to set down roots after all. There's a little bit of tension with Jo's mother, but Nick never messes around when it comes to Jo. I read this in one sitting and I'm fully invested in this entire family. I volunteered to listen to a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Super fast paced

Spark is book six in the Men of Inked Heatwave series and is the story of Nick Gallo and Josephine (Jo) Carmichael.
Nick is minding his own business and trying to eat his tacos in peace before going home after a long day when he overhears Jo crying into her Nachos and telling her cheating boyfriend she is done and wants him out of her life. Nick finds her settling down for the night in her car and being the protector, he can’t allow her to sleep in her car so offers his couch to her, not realising she is in fact Hollywood royalty.
Nick and Jo’s story was filled with drama, suspense, humour, sizzling chemistry, an insta connection and hot, spicy sexy times. Catching up with the Gallo clan was amazing, the witty dialogue and banter was entertaining and the way they embraced Jo and showed her what a family should be like was beautiful.
The amazingly talented Samantha Brentmoor and Lance Greenfield narrated this book. Samantha portrayed Jo perfectly. She tapped into her public persona, which was strong and confident, yet perfectly showed that away from the public eye Jo was sweet, broken, damaged and just wanted to be loved.
Lance was the perfect Nick, he showed that while Nick is a strong alpha, he has a soft centre and wants to be loved. I loved this duo; they really brought the story to life.
I really enjoyed this story. If you love romantic suspense stories with insta connections, then this is the book for you. Despite this being a standalone, I would recommend reading the series as the number of characters referred to from previous books can get confusing if you aren’t aware of who they are and their stories.

A beautiful insta romance

There is nothing I love more than getting lost in the Gallo family stories! Each one is original and romantic, and lets us spend some time with the entire family. This is Nick's story, the son of Angel and Thomas. At a late night taco stand, he bumps into Jo, a very upset, beautiful woman. He catches bits and pieces of her plight and when he sees her again, gives her a place to stay. He has no idea what he is getting into. Jo is the daughter of Hollywood actors and as a result is famous as well. But that doesn't matter to Nick. There is something about Jo that brings out that Gallo protectiveness and he is going to do what it takes to keep her safe. And our story begins. But will she want to be with an ordinary guy like Nick? I love Nick! He is the kind of guy that what you see is what you get. He pulls no punches, says what he means and loves with his whole heart. For all the craziness Jo comes from, she proves to have a level head, is the kind of woman that is independent, and can handle a Gallo man. Bliss once again captivates me, and brings me home in a family that I love.

Lance Greenfield and Samantha Brentmoor tell their story and it's amazing. Each finds the perfect voices for these characters and lets us take their journey. Greenfield always brings out the best in the alpha male, and his voice for Nick is perfect. Strong, protective and loving, he brings Nick to life. Brentmoor molds Jo into the independent woman she wants to be. She creates a character that we can feel grow, and change as she realizes what she really wants. These two are fantastic together and enhanced this great story.

Love those Gallos!
