Summary

Two chance encounters. One great love.

While everyone around Carmello Caldo found love, he was busy losing himself in pleasure and pain. But when his cousin Lily wants to help him find true love, he doesn’t hesitate to accept her offer.

Arlo King is not Carmello’s usual type. She’s a bookworm who doesn’t give herself away easy. But she’s the perfect woman to help reform the serial womanizer, even though she has commitment issues of her own.

Quickly, their fake relationship goes from slow-burn to scorching hot from the very first touch. But can they work through their trouble pasts and embrace a fairy tale future?

fantastic

this is another fantastic book inthe series, it's hard not to fall in love with Carmello Caldo. Connor Crais is brilliant as the voice of Carmello just what I image his voice would be and Samantha Brentmoor is as brilliant as always. can't wait for the next in the series as it just get better and better xx

Another fabulous read

I am so loving these Gallo's, this is Carmello Gallo and his chance to find love with Arlo King.

Connor and Samantha have done a wonderful job at narrating this story, I also had the benefit of whysper sync, so I could switch, though to be honest I loved Connor's voice more than my own so I tended to close my eyes and listen.

I love this Series!

Carmelo (Mello) and Arlo's fake relationship and slow burn romance is well written, funny, and sweet. Some scenes are hilarious! I love the family bonds in this series. Connor Crais did a fantastic job with the narration. His range of voices is impressive! I liked the epilogue narrated by Samantha Brentmoor. I enjoyed it.

Beautiful Romance

If your looking for a read or listen with highs, lows or plot twists this isn’t for you however if your after a romance that blooms like a beautiful flower then this is it. It was nice to see both characters unfold and learn about each other in such a sweet way. Carmello’s character is such a gentleman and I can see traits in him from his uncles characters, overall I really enjoyed this read / listen.

I must applaud Connor Crais for his multiple voices for all the characters involved in this book, he’s done a marvelous job. Be aware if you are a Samantha Brentmoor fan she is not heard until the end.

Good Listen

Arlo has been saved by Carmelo twice and to return the favor she will help him dating and decides she will fake date him. But this fake relationship turns into so much more. Their journey to finding themselves has ups and downs and plenty of interference from the Gallo family.

Brilliant

Ah these characters are so good. Chelae has written absolute gold here, the humour they have is brilliant. With a great storyline and a perfect level of emotion I couldn’t put it down. A fantastic performance from both Samantha and Connor.

Great characters & some seriously funny text chats

Carmello is Rocco’s twin who we met in Ember the previous book and he is also struggling with the event that changed both of their lives over 10 years ago. He bumps into Arlo and ends up rescuing her….twice! Later he that he’s ready to kick his womanising ways and settle down, but his cousin Lily (from Spark - book 6) decides a fake relationship with Arlo will be a great way to get some “practice” in preparation for finding Miss. Right. This is a slow burn that goes up in flames once Mello decides that his feelings are real.

I absolutely loved the banter between all the cousins and their partners. The group text chats were hilarious and a highlight in the book for me. Everyone gave Mello sh*t about his denial when it came to his feelings for Arlo and it really felt like proper family ribbing. There’s definitely a dance between these two, that touches on more than fake, but Mello isn’t about to push Arlo and his care around her is beautiful to see. When they go all in, the heat is most definitely there but there is plenty of tenderness too.

Connor narrates the majority of the book and I definitely wasn’t sad to hear his smooth voice for hours. He did a great job of managing those text chats, giving each character a slightly different voice so you knew who was saying what. Although I did love listening to Connor I was stoked that Samantha made an appearance in the epilogue. It’s no secret that she is one of my favourite female narrators and she tied up this story perfectly. Another great audiobook from Chelle and her team.

Book 8

I love this family. I feel like it took a little long for the connection between Carmello and Arlo to come through. The banter between the cousins were spot on and very entertaining even though sometimes I was like “give him a break, he is trying!”. I do feel like the men are a little soft in these last couple of books. At the beginning of the series they were more like bad biker dudes. Now they talk about their feelings and marriage a lot. They are still typical guys but softer. There was to much marriage talk to soon in this book. Fran and Bear crack me up in this book. There are a hand full of twists that I didn’t see coming in this book. I can’t wait for the next book to come out. No cliffhangers. The narration was great. I definitely recommend this book/series. 🎧 audiobook Obsession

Loved it but....

As a fan of this heat wave series I had high expectations going into Carmello's story.

The book is called singe but compared to all the other books in the series it had a whole lot less burn and way more sweet. That's not a bad thing. Sometimes slow burn is even better.

Carmello was less a dominant alpha and more sweet boyfriend. It paired well with Arlo who was a bit evasive and scared. They saved each other in the best way.

I did have mixed feelings about the extended family in this one though. They had no support for Carmello all their support was directed at Arlo. I found myself feeling sorry for Carmello and wanting to champion for him. No one had his back not even his twin. Luckily he found this unwavering support in Arlo and it made for a happy ending with Nonna's help.

As always the narration was fantastic. Connor and Samantha did a great job bringing Carmello and Arlo to life.

Carmello & Arlo

I liked this book and I loved the fact that Connor Crais narrated just about all of it, but there are a few exceptions. First, they only have sex one time at the end. Second. the whole scene only lasted about 3 minutes. When you have Connor narrating, you need so much more. Granted there was a few scenes where they play around but even those had very little detail. With the type of person Carmello was written as, there should have been way more. His brothers book was lacking as well in that department. I read romance for those reasons but I also understand why the book was written as it was to show that Mello felt more than just sex for Arlo and that there was more to Mello than sex. It feel it just makes the characters feel more connected in my opinion. Some may like that and that's okay. I still loved hearing the story and I'll still listen to Rosie's book as well. I love books but this author. The whole Gallo clan is great. If everyone could have a family such as them, this world would be so much better. The texting was extremely funny.

Carmelo and Arlo have something amazing

Melo is healing from the loss of his girlfriend from 10 years ago. He first meets Arlo on New Year’s Eve and comes to her rescue when he sees a guy harassing her. Six months later they run into each other again when she is stranded by the side of the road. A few months later Lilly sets them up to fake date so Arlo can help Lilly and Melo try to figure out what needs to change so he can settle down.
Arlo and Melo have history so things don’t quite stick to the plan.

Laugh out loud fun!

I love the Gallo/Caldo family. They are truly wonderful, love each other fiercely and the younger generations group texts are hilarious.
In this story we are witnessing Carmello‘s story and his hunt for his forever. Will he find it in the lovely Arlo, someone who is completely not his normal type, or will he be doomed to never open his heart again after an accident left him riddled with guilt? I can’t wait to see what is to come next with the whole crew.

Mello and Arlo!

Singe was exactly what we needed from the Heatwave series. I am so happy Carmello’s story wasn’t a “heavy” story. His past was already so rough he needed the sweet and easy. The Gallos never disappoint in making everyone feel loved, welcome and like they are family! I’m sure everyone will agree when I say we need more Mello and Arlo, they are each other’s perfect one.
Can’t wait for more Gallos to fall in love with!

A story that will sweep you off your feet!

Another breathtaking listen from Chelle Bliss! I cannot ever get enough of the Gallo Family. Chelle always has me laughing out loud and then crying over her words. And to top it all off with the narrator, Connor Crais, I melted over his smooth, sensual voice. He truly embodied Carmello, making me swoon and fall hard for the hero.

Carmello and Arlo were all playful banter and blazing sexual tension. A slow burn that was so worth the wait. Their pasts, though tragic, made them stronger in the end. I enjoyed every second of this listen/read, I am at a loss for words. It is just that perfect and I always want more once I have finished.

My heart is so full and there is a giant smile on my face. I feel like these characters have become my family because I have been on this ride with the Gallo Family since the very beginning. This story is everything to me!

Another Gallo great!

I loved Singe! I knew Carmello would need someone sweet and strong to help him get past the accident 10 years ago! Arlo is amazing and the perfect fit for Mello. While some of the Gallo couples started off hot and heavy from the start, Mello and Arlo started off slow and their fire burned brighter and stronger as their story progressed. Their “fake relationship” didn’t stay fake for long and they spent time together and got to know one another better. Of course the Gallos all took to Arlo and welcomed her into the wonder and love that is the Gallo family. While this book didn’t have the flash and angst that some of Chelle’s other books had, it was a great read and will hook you in from the start!

Reading the book was amazing, but listening to Connor Crais adds an entirely new HOT level to this book. His voice is so damn sexy!
