About this listen
After spending years of his life in prison for a crime he didn’t commit, Nevin Walsh doesn’t know where he fits in anymore.
But then, his brother’s best friend, Luna Gallo, makes it her personal mission to help him settle back into his newfound freedom. He should say no. Turn her away. But there’s something about the woman who radiates sunshine that makes her impossible to ignore. And the harder he pushes her away, the harder she comes.
And what starts off as an unwanted friendship turns into something he never expects. But can Nevin let go of the hurt from his past to allow himself happiness in his future?

The audiobook is narrated by Lance Greenfield and Samantha Brentmoor. I'm a big fan of these narrators and while I thought Lance sounded a little older than I pictured, they both did well and kept me entrenched in the story.
Wonderful to be with the Gallos again!

So this one’s Luna, Rosie from ASHES’s twin sister. She’s a Gallo girl through and through and falls for the brother of her bestie who’s just been released from prison. This was a low angst, high heat but in a sweet and nurturing rather than a slamming possessive kind of way. Luna and Nevin are tasked with looking out for each other by Nevin’s brother Ian who’s Luna’s best friend. There’s a little touch of forced proximity due to a hurricane and although Luna’s a bit of a scaredy cat when it comes to storms she’s a boss when it comes to defending herself. With a smidgey bit of suspense this book ticked all the boxes.
My fave thing with this series has to be all the family chat text messages. It’s great to see all the different couples and cousins making appearances.
As I said before Sam smashes the narration on this one. Easily flipping between allllllll the voices and bringing her signature sass to Luna. Lance gives us a more sensitive side to Nevin and I was here for it all. Another great book in the Men of Inked Heatwave series.
Seriously great narration of a fabulous story.

I love how they take each role, run with hit and make it their own, sounding believable and just how I picture the characters to sound. Their character voices are consistent and the quality of the audio is top-notch. These entertaining storytellers are versatile voice artists and a pleasure to listen to. Lance Greenfield was an amazing choice of narrator to portray Nevin Walsh’s character. His deep gravely voice really helps you feel all that Nevin has gone through.
I loved Nevin and Luna's story
