About this listen
A gripping literary horror novel about the death of a haunted town
On winter solstice, the birds disappeared, and the mist arrived.
The inhabitants of Nebulah quickly learn not to venture out after dark. But it is hard to stay indoors: Cabin fever sets in, and the mist can be beguiling too.
Eventually only six remain. Like the rest of the townspeople, Pete has nowhere else to go. After he rescues a stranded psychic from a terrible fate, he’s given a warning: He will be dead by solstice unless he leaves town - soon.

Unforgiving and relentless.
Written so well and with such detail it leaves you hooked despite its long chapters.
You really feel for every character.
Ignore the comment on the bad Scottish accent, that happens only once.
My only critique is that there is a lot of resubmission recordings where the audio quality drops and it’s noticeable and quite frequent but other than that, this story is that of true terror and tragedy; especially the last 3 chapters.
Heartbreaking and Gripping

I will knock one mark off just because I feel like the ending left me feeling a bit short changed, wanting some kind of explanation of what had happened and not getting it.
Compelling story with great pacing

The narrator had the lovely old drawl that promised more than the book delivered.
It wasn’t a terrible story just a bit jumbled in places and not captivating enough for me, if I had bought it as a hard copy paper book then I probably would have passed it to someone else by chapter four.
‘Soon’ but how soon?
