Summary
In the year 2055, scientists discover something far worse than rising temperatures and rising seas - they discover massive sunspots that are producing unprecedented solar flares.
With little time to prepare for the storms, NASA recruits doctors Sophie Winston and Emanuel Rodriguez to help monitor the solar weather. At first, the duo believes they have been hired for a routine project. But when arriving at the Johnson Space Center they quickly realize they haven't been told everything about their mission. And as a massive storm races toward Earth, they begin to suspect that it isn't a natural event. Millions of miles away something is feeding the storms....

Excellent short prequel!
Solar Storms is a short prequel to the Orbs series! It doesn't matter if you listen to this before or after the series. It's great either way! Solar Storms is about the event that leads up to the Orbs series. Great short story and I can't believe I missed it! Better late than never I guess lol. Another great book by Nicholas Sansbury Smith and a fantastic narration by Bronson Pinchot!

ANOTHER stupid book. I think I'm done with author
I couldn't make it past a few chapters.. as per orb series, bad writing.. ok..childishly immature writing, poorcharacter development and an annoying narrator.
AGAIN I can't be bothered to listen long enough to see how it turns out.
might be suitable for young teens, but not for adult professional sci fi loving crowd who expects intelligent and creative plot twists and depth of character.
it's a sure pass.

Prequel is interesting, but...
I enjoyed the story and even want to read the series, but the narrator was not to my liking. I fell asleep the first time I listened. I had to force myself to pay clear attention and focus the second time. I will read this series and not listen to it.

OK as a beginning
By the time I listedned tothis I had already listened to the entire ORB series. Therefore it didn't do much for me. It would have been interesting if I had listened to it first but it is not necessary to before you do the series.
I got it free on a special and for that price it was very good but I would never have paid it only being only 53 minuses long.
Bronson Pinchot is a better narrator than actor. I always like his narrations. He's very good doiing voices.

It's not a book, just a trailer for one.
I realize I should've looked at the running time before wasting my credit on this one, but I'm still annoyed. This is just a short intro to a book, and I'm peeved at the author and myself for wasting a whole month's credit on it. I wish I could return it and re-use my credit for a complete book.

Was good hearing the start of Orbs. Didn't know this existed. Glad I found it. It's short and sweet, and not altogether necessary but that doesn't change it being good.
