Story
The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the Native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon came ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There went the good old days, when humans got killed only by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Summary
At the end of the world, who will escape?
Operation Redemption, the final desperate mission in taking back the planet from the Organics has failed. Captain Rick Noble and his soldiers have been captured and imprisoned on an alien ship. But not all is lost. Their sacrifice allowed Doctor Sophie Winston, Doctor Emanuel Rodriguez, and their small team to escape in the NTC Sunspot - their destination, Mars. The perilous journey to find a lost human colony may offer Sophie and the rest of humanity a chance at life.
Those left on Earth are caught in a life-and-death struggle. Corporal Athena Rollins of the NTC Ghosts of Atlantis submarine still believes they can beat the aliens with the help of AI Alexia, but time is running out. The oceans are draining, the temperatures are rising, and the other pockets of survivors are perishing every day.
Trapped on the Organic ship, Captain Rick Noble is desperate to escape and save his crew back on Earth. As he waits for his opportunity he finds an ally in the most unlikely of places.
The fight for Earth may be lost, but the fight for Mars and the future of the human race may have just begun....

worth the wait!!
Another amazing book by an awesome author. I have been hooked on the Orb series since I found them!!! I am glad Smith finally wrote it.
This is the continuing story of those that survived an invasion by an alien lifeforms called Organics. Now the remnants of a rag tag group survivors are on there way to Mars. Will they survive???
I highly recommend this book for any fans of Nicholas Sansbury Smith's or Anthony Melchorri.
Easy five stars across the board.

The ending I was waiting for!!
The original ending, book 3, left so many questions!! I wanted, no, needed more.
I was so excited to hear Nicholas Sansbury Smith was teaming up with another favorite author of mine to write a book 4 and give us the ending he wanted! Anthony Melchiorri brings real life science to everything he writes and I knew this story was one I had to read.
Let me say, they do not disappoint. From page one this grabs you and pulls you right back into that world. There are plenty of twists and turns and edge of your seat action. You see no way for a good end for us, no way that anything can work out, but you also can’t stop reading!
Is it a happy ending? Does it leave you hanging? I’m not saying. I am going to say it’s a must read story that gives you an ending that works and feels right. It’s a story that any fan of the genre will enjoy from beginning to end and wish would just keep going. I’ll also say I’d love to see these two team up again to make a series from start to finish, cause they make a great team.

Exciting Science Fiction Horror Thriller
This series by Nicholas Sansbury Smith with its engaging characters and vivid creepy atmosphere was my first taste of the author's work. From beginning short stories to Orbs IV, I was totally hooked and could not stop reading or listening. Anthony Melchiorri helped Smith keep the story advancing at a terrifying pace while also keeping us holding our breath waiting to see what would happen next to characters like the young boys, David and Jeff. When Bronson Pnchot narrated the terrifying "scratch, scrape" of the spider monsters while the boys were hiding in the dark alone I felt afraid.
Listening to Orbs is a little like "War of the Worlds" meets "Aliens'. The pace is relentess, the fear is overwhelming and the outcome is the survival of humanity. From beginning to this final novel four this kept me engaged and anxious to know what happens next

What an awesome series
Exodus is the 4th and final book in the Orbs series. This is an apocalyptic sci-Fi thriller that ends this addictive ride. 🙁. I miss these books. There is nothing like the first read of a series you love. I had to get the Audible because I couldn’t wait to be able to actually read the book. Life gets in the way.
Dr. Sophie Winston is the main character throughout the series. There are a lot of characters. Most well defined. Some just passing through. The characters are so well written they become true people. Friends you root for. This final installment adds some incredible imagination to some new charters I’ll never forget.
The Exodus lets the reader finally see behind the scenes so to speak. Evading the beings trying to kill mankind is thrilling to the reader, terrifying to the characters.
So much has happened to get here. Way back in the first book there was a very insightful character who is suddenly front stage again. He is the reason for this final book. It gets hard to be sure of who the good guys are.
The Audible is excellent. The narrator plays the character parts well. No problem following who is who. The vocalized sound affects are intense. I’ll never forget some of them. I highly recommend the book and Audible. What an awesome experience.
