Paige and Tanner's romance has alot of structure as they meet in unfortunate circumstances when they are very young.
Tanner helps Paige out of a very bad situation that doesn't end well and it is years later when they are both Adults that fate has them meeting again.
Paige is a school teacher who writes in her free time and her latest screen play was just picked up by a very famous actor.
Tanner is that very famous and popular actor who wanted to stretch his talents into directing he just needed to find the right script to direct.
That story just so happens to be Paige's screenplay and he wants to meet Paige,it is just a pity that Paige does not want to meet him.
The incident that happened to Paige when she was young traumatised Paige and it has let her with many unfortunate insecurities...One huge one was that she will not leave the small town of Sugar Spring.
I think Paige feels that if she leaves Sugar Spring then something bad will happen like it did in her past.
Anyway it does come to light that Tanner was the boy who saved Paige all those years ago,and because they shared this past trauma..It is easy for Paige to feel comfortable around Tanner and quickly they both fall in love.
Shadows of The Past is an insta-love kind of story as both Tanner and Paige fall hard and fast immediately and Tanner helps Paige overcome her fears...and he represents many of Paiges firsts also.
There is some steam in this book but it is not graphic love scenes but gentle ones..Paige and Tanner work together on the movie but it is not all smooth sailing for them..There are a few bumps in the road for them.
Narration to this book is performed by Lori Faiella who acts out all the characters in this story and I think she does a wonderful job at portraying both male and female roles...and I enjoyed listening to her.
Alexa Aston has written a very intriguing,emotional and sweet romance that was a pleasure to listen to.
A great book.

Tanner Haddock , a one time model, actor , now director picks up one of scripts and falls in love with it. When these two meet the two of them clash. Paige is an introvert due to her past after being kidnapped by her father as a teen, meaning she never leaves town.
These two are brilliant together, Tanner helps her over come her abusive past and she shows him he is worth so much more and is capable of his dream.
The chemistry, the heat between them is brilliant.
